Thank you for your valuable advice Spaniel Dog ...I'm sure I need it :)..........I've worked as a Counsellor before and I'm sure I don't need reminding about reading and listening .....may I humbly suggest that you take heed of your own advice - and, something I used to advise young people who were about to write a vitriolic answer to an email - type it, read it, walk away, have a cup of coffee, come back - and delete half of it!

Don't lower yourself to dignify his yabba yabba with your time/ reply.

I have also read your threads/ posts for years and you will make a truly wonderful Macmillan volunteer:D

Have there been any suggestions as to possible causes of lung disease?

Some of the likely causes no longer exist. The Clean Air Act helped to deal with the air pollution caused by coal fires - the 'great smog' of the 1950s. There is Health and Safety at Work so no longer any excuse for breathing in noxious chemicals in the workplace. We no longer have a textile industry so, no breathing in cotton fibres in cotton mills. Yes, there's traffic pollution. What else? I can think of one!

You can only think of one cause of lung disease?

I think you should go back to medical school for a refresher!
