Options
Hi

If in wrong place please move or has been posted please post, the posting !

I tip the Pizza man,Indian,Chinese etc (£1-2 maybe or odd change from £20)

My brother lives abroad and tips his delivery man again a couple of Euros

Reason

Got mine delivered last night and as per usual the guy was really helpful, then 'sort of' hung around-a bit, like a door man or bell-boy. was chatting etc and then I just said cheers and went to put shopping away

cheers

No I never have done and ours just sort of stick the tray outside the door for you to unpack it from there, they get paid to bring to my house and aren't doing anything further so I have never considered it.

    Paid MS- £5+ £10 GR, £5 RE, £15 MS
    £65 ebay profit

I've never tipped mine either - I do tip the takeaway delivery guys but never considered doing so with Asda/Tesco delivery drivers
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

Another no for your collection. I suppose the only reason I tip the others is because I am handing over cash anyway. In this case I'd have to make the effort to do so.

Like the others, it never even crossed my mind. You pay approx £5 delivery charge anyway. And, like Alexandria said, they should offer to bring it in for you but mine just gets dumped on the doorstep.

Very first delivery I wondered if I should.

As you say, we tip the pizza delivery people and taxi-drivers....

    I didn't, though.

Not sure what's right or wrong there, I suppose they get a reasonable wage and I do already pay for the delivery.

Probably ought to stop tipping hairdressers and taxi-drivers :D

I lived in a ground floor apartment previously and they used to drop the boxes in the car parking area
They could have at least dropped it off at the side door to the building - easy to get to, would only have been like walking down a short driveway to a house door!!
My apartment door was only another 2 steps from the building door.. Erm, sorry but no tip from me! :o :rotfl:

  • You may find that many wouldn't accept it anyway - a lot of large companies don't allow employees to accept 'tips'. When I worked for DSG a customer wanted to buy me a xmas drink and put a fiver in my top pocket (as I'd gone out of my way to help him) but I had to respectfully decline.

I would probably think about a tip at xmas when they would be working their socks off - after all, we tip the binmen at xmas when they are busy.
