Hi,
some of you may remember me having problems with my laptop before ie virus and being very slow which you lovely people helped me with.
My laptop is a samsung R519 using windows 7.
.
It still keeps being slow and malwarebytes keeps finding things in the scans i'm doing.
So i have now decided that i think the best thing to do is buy a external harddrive like THIS and backup all my photos etc then i am going to buy some Ram, I have found a link for THIS site in a post on here and just wanted to know which is best to get?
Just wanted to ask peoples opinions to see if i am doing the correct thing:

Backup
recovery taking laptop back to original settings when i first got it any help would be appreciated :)

my last scan (quick one) was as follows:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.75.0.1300
www.malwarebytes.org

Database version: v2013.09.27.04

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x86 NTFS
Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16686

you had netelligence installed last time you posted a log

babylon etc usually come bundled with something you installed, so if you are careful when installing software, then you shouldn't have a problem

If it's a modern laptop with 2GB or more, more ram may make little difference to speed, a factory restore will make far more difference.

I suggest making the recovery cd, installing macrium reflect, doing a disk image backup to external drive, creating macrium recovery cd, then copy your most important data to 2 places, eg external hard disk, and burn to dvd, then factory restore, which is usually done by hold F4 at boot on samsungs.

you already have, according to that log

how old is this laptop, was it bought new with Windows7 installed?

If it only has 1GB then more ram may be useful, but I'd do a backup and factory restore first, presumably it hasn't always been slow?

I wouldn't be running W7 with only 1GB of RAM.
But do the Factory Restore and get it clean before you upgrade that.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

right click on my computer, tells you the ram

if so, it's a low ram spec for a few years old

I wouldn't do a Factory Restore at all, especially if this laptop came with NetIntelligence installed in the first place.
Clean install from boot with a verified Windows 7 SP1 image.

    1GB RAM DDR2 £6.99

2GB RAM would be more than ok with a clean install.
