Oh dearrrrr, I think Geocaching has definitely become my new obsession and is actually starting to preoccupy what was my DFW thought quota...however the activity in a way is a free one so technically it is a DFW activity, plus requires a fair bit of walking and ADVENTURE! :T
Had a lovely couple of hours with OH discovering a country park I did not even know existed near to where I live this afternoon! We picked up some geocaches along the way- my favourite being a geocache in the form of a somewhat realistic looking plastic duck sneekily hidden in an ivy laden tree! Remainder of the afternoon was spent playing on the zip wire and swings hidden away in the country park, then back to OHs for tea, choc digestives and a movie before trudging home in the rain and getting splashed by a charming white van driver...
SFD today- hooray! SFDs= 14 :j:coffee:

To start with it might be worth starting your own thread on the debt free wannabe board with your statement of affairs (SOA) http://www.stoozing.com/calculator/soa.php
Then bods like us can point out places you can save some dosh and you might not even realise where your moneys going until you see it in writing. Good luck!0 -

Morning all.. I knew my days of research and MSE at work were numbered. An email today confirms my desk move to "share" until someone else comes back from A/L. This means I won't have easy access to you lot.... be good while I am away and I shall check in again tonight.
Meeting a friend for a coffee (herbal) which makes me think he might pay for them - otherwise I have an SFD planned.
I am just dreading this new office. I have no interest in this job any more and I just can't wait to leave. Defeatist - yes. Do I care - not really. Life has something a lot more fun planned for me and it ends at this place.
I am not sure I will survive for another 9 months after my DFD of just earning in order to travel...
Anyway enoguh of the misery guts.. I have goodies galore packed with me today - a super healthy day is planned. AND I am still drinking my water like a good NSK....
So I shall be back.... Whoop!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

NSK - It is tough trying to stick at something you really are not enjoying anymore. However, I think you should reward yourself once you hit that glorious DFD! Even something small to keep you going until you pack up and chuck that backpack on! May be a 'luxury' that you have deprived yourself of throughout the last year? My little reward for myself will be returning to my Zumba/Street dance classes. Only once a week, but something to look forward to and definitely something I will be able to afford again! Before I head off on my gap year in '09 I found work a real slog, but tried to press on through by creating a travel scrap book and chatting to fellow travellers on gapyear.com to keep motivated and read other people's advise and travel experiences. I also chatted lots to friends who also shared the passion for travelling, it will keep you motivated.
After my DFD I will be saving for my Hawaii trip/ 30th commiseration trip, filtering some money into a savings account for the L-T goal of generating a deposit for a Dove house of my very own! I also need to formulate a plan to help my Mum finish paying her mortgage off. It finishes in 3 years 8 months, it's what would be deemed a 'small mortgage' (house bought in '88), but it's interest only and as a full-time carer of my sister she has not been able to pay/ save for the capital. Lots and lots of financial planning ahead...I feel this personal journey has just been a little prep for a much bigger financial challenge!! Eek!:coffee:

Today shall be SFD number 13. I also have a bag of goodies bagged. Fruit and nut mix (gone already :0), HM humous and carrot sticks, yogurt, fruit, a wafer thingy as a treat, and HM scotch broth.
Need to send off the shoes I sold on ebay but that comes out of the money she paid. So that means I got my wallet with me BUT it will stay firmly shut.
EDIT: Got 120 nappies from my boss today as their daughter is now house trained.
