Just checking in for the day :)

Sold an item on eB4y for £22.36 :) but no payment yet :( List another item :)

    SFD :) Didn't eat out :)

Also found we have £19ish of N3ct4r points so I'm going to pick up the last lot of dog food for the month from sainsbobs using these :)

Feeling very proud of myself :)

Hope everyone else is having a good day?

I did have to relent and put the heating on for 2 hours tonight as I'm struggling to dry the thicker clothing items atm.

A day of Geocaching in the rain to work out some of the post-wedding drink today. Recruited 3 friends to loiter around with searching for caches. :)

Lil spend on a spud, some salad and tuna as eating at a friend's house this eve, who is also on a debt busting mission. So not a SFD today.

    Happy weekend everyone!

As it was a spendy day anyway and we were bored with the bad weather we popped out again and i bought DS a pair of trousers in ASDA. He needed them as most others have holes and the other handmedowns are still too big. However, remembered i forgot butter and vinegar earlier and a few others items, most needed but forgotten earlier, sneaked themselves into the basket :(. So i vow to have SFDs from tomorrow till Friday.

Cant be bothered painting so I'll crochet a bit. Wish the telly were better.

  • Hey all...

Managed a SFD today making that number 11.

Had a day at the gym, and a chill out at home. Been crunching the figures and seeking some advice on the pensions forum on here...

I have a new battle plan now!!!

    1) Continue paying into my work pension
    2) Plough ALL money into debt. As of Jan my payments go up to £560 p/m which will clear me by the end of October 2014 as planned.
    3) After this, all money goes into an ISA to save for a mortgage deposit which will take me under 2 years to save £10K
    4) Buy a house, and remaining money is ploughed into clearing that and saving additional pension.

Somewhere in there it'd be nice to have a life too, with a holiday, and nights out... I've been so long 'in debt' I can't remember what it's like not to have any! Kat - you can tell us when you are debt free next year :)

    Night all x

  • Haven't been posting regularly, sorry. But I have been keeping the rules in mind. Spend days yesterday and today so hopefully that is everything for the week. Grocery budget quite spent-out but only one more grocery shop to go this month so fingers crossed it will be ok.

Feeling the cold but still no heating on, trying to hold out till 1 November. Extra socks and snugly throws do help.

Hope everyone is doing well in their challenge and good luck for the rest of the month.

Apologies if this post appears twice, the iPad keeps telling me I am trying to post twice but I'm really not.

    Onwards and upwards. X

Erm... only 52 minutes late but spend-free day today (well yesterday).

Was supposed to be taking my lunch to work but then finished early so didn't need it. (did eat it at home though).
    ;)

    So...

    spend free days = 14/20 (i think).
food to work days = 10/13.
    :D

Got to get 6 more spend free days in 11 days. hmmmmm...

This would make it nearly impossible for me atm to go vegan or vegetarian. But I definitely want to eat less meat.

Wow I've been a vegetarian for 18 years and like to think I'm pretty hot on what's in what but I've never heard of gelatine in yoghurt?! *off to check the fridge*

    Morning :)

Just wanted to post as I'm feeling very reflective about my debt situation this morning and wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for your support, especially NSK for running this challenge.

The challenge is keeping me so focused on debt busting and even though I find the big picture very depressing and overwhelming, having small positive steps I can achieve each day is really helping :)

I can't wait until payday so I can pay off more debt and can't wait until my November pay check when I hopefully (fingers crossed) won't have to pay for any car expenses so will have another £200 a month towards the debt :)

yesterday was a sfd :D also went to the gym and except for a few extra strong mints i had in my bag had no sweets or choc :) :A

today i will be going to the gym again then taking puss to the vets for a jab. have already paid for it but will be joining their scheme that is £10pm for flea, worm, annual vacinations and other stuff like claw trims and diet advice. will need to pay the £10 today for this month. also getting him his new toy (out of the cat budget) and decided to get him a reflective collar as i dont want him outside at night but occurred to me that it will be dark before i get home from work. hoping he doesnt work out how to get round the front of the house (i live in a terrace!). this morning on his third ever outing outside (well since i have had him) he managed to get stuck in a neighbours garden behind mine two along. i could hear him wining and he wasnt coming when i called him so i was there with a ladder in my neighbours garden in my pjs but i couldnt reach him. luckily he eventually managed it before i had to start knocking on random peoples door asking if they have a little red and yellow house in their garden :o

  • Hello! Happy Sunday to the October crew!!

Well - yesterday was a SFD so I am now at 12 - think today will not be one as need to pick up some supplies but then we should be spend free all the way to Wednesday! :j

It's so weird - on my SFDs - does anyone else get a compulsion to spend money just because that's what we've been ingrained to do?!!!! Like it seems weird NOT to buy anything! It's a long road but I'm trying to re-programme myself so I'm the other way round!!!!

Oh and a bit of a :j - I got 800 quid back on my PPI claim - got the letter through yesterday so that will be paid back onto my credit card and reduce that balance by 800 quid! Nice! :D

Quiet day for me here today - just a constant battle to stop the dog eating the cat food!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone else has a lovely Sunday (lots of yellow stickers on a Sunday!!!!!)

    xx
