NSK - am I right in thinking if you make a purchase entirely with vouchers/points it counts as an SFD?
Yes. And don't be hard on yourself. We live and learn.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Morning people!!!
Catch up for me...
Sunday I did well all day... went to the supermarket knowing I had £7.69 on my Nectar Card and so determined to stay under that so I could get a SFD. At one point I piled in loads of stuff on offer, got half way round and unpacked it again, and made it out on target. Was so pleased! Then...I went to a friends, planning on dodging dinner, but he wanted to eat out and I crumbled and spent £7.00. I was so annoyed that I just didn't say 'Actually I'm on a budget, and I have loads in at home - I'm gonna eat there'. GRRRRR.
Anyhow yesterday was SFD number 12... hoping today will notch that up another point.
Have a good day all.

I agree with NSK, Fmess - one of my LBMs to really kick debt-busting into gear rather than plodding along with it was a friend showing us a picture of a house he wanted to buy at auction and me thinking but thats MY dream house. It absolutely killed me for about a few hours and then I turned it into the motivation I needed to kick this!! I've upped our DFD now from Xmas 2014 to July 2014!!
PS - she might just be mortgaged to the hilt and not told you her money specifics or got help form family. As they say - don't get mad [jealous] get even!! :rotfl::rotfl: You can do it Fmess - focus on the good in your life and your debt-busting successes!!!! Big hugs from here! :grouphug:
For me - planning for another NSD today - so should be 14 by the end of the day! Also - got my PPI cheque - guessing I need something more conclusive to 'make' my 100 quid this month NSK?
Off for my second cup of coffee :coffee: and then work out what my day is going to look like!!!!

I totally agree with "don't compare yourself to others" as you don't know what's going on behind closed doors. Although I am guilty of that too. For me it's being jealous of people that don't have to fork out 1000s in childcare because they have relatives close by and work flexible hours and can afford to go on holiday because of it. But it doesn't mean that this is a correct picture I see.
Today should be another SFD and dinner will be pot noodles for me as OH is at the Celtic game tonight. Will finish off sock monkey's pal tonight and maybe paint some more kitchen cabinets. Although the conservatory needs a clean too.
I am all up for an Anniversary Batten Down The Hatches November. I will start scheming tonight too and look at the calendar, our food stocks etc. I know there are still 10 days left but I had a look at the original NOvember thread 2012 and started writing a wee list of things I want to achieve next month. Firstly though I will finish this one without any further damageDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Please count the PPI - you weren't expecting it were you! Yes it's added to your £100 pot!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Had a dreadful day at work yesterday, and it's not going to be much better today unfortunately.
Still, I still didn't spend any money, or drink any alcohol, so, onwards and upwards.
May have a spend day on Thursday because there is a 50% toy sale so I could get some Christmas presents out of the way. They would be out of my already put aside Christmas spends budget though, so would they count as a spend NSK?
Lunch is already tubbed up for today, with some cheese muffins and some peach slices for pudding, and a bananna or two!Feb NST #4

Well my social calendar shouldn't be too busy the next two months. Just refused an invitation to 40th in December. They're usually throwing a good party and I am preggers and hate being around people that drink and have fun. So I'll just stay at home "babysit" DS and sulk, well and save money I guess. Gosh, how much longer....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Afternoon I've kinda reverted back to lurking and not posting for a few days also fallen into the dark mood & thoughts.
Good news first Sun was a NSD the weather changed but waterproofs on and out we went! Yesterday should have been one too, trip to the coast with picnic but the rain came on so we got donuts £5 for 8 waiting for the rain to pass - it didn't (they were fresh & delicious but kinda expensive) DH bought them.
On the way home we stopped of as the kids need winter shoes/boots. Managed to get DD wellies & boots for £34 which wasn't too bad. Nothing much in outlet shop for DS. He needs waterproof trousers for the football tonight as it's to be showery. Nothing to match his jacket yet so had to pick some up today ended up with ski trousers but now worried they'll not have much growth room... Also got 2 outfits for DD which are lovely & 1 for DS which needs to go back as doesn't look right. The list goes on as had to get batteries in the pound shop for toy & clothing sale on Sat & picked up lollipops too. Almost forgot I got gym bottoms too as one of my 2 pairs is 3 sizes too big & I wore whilst pregnant so are always falling down. So taking off the stuff to go back £100, also got painkillers in Boots (still got cold lingering).
I couldn't bear going food shopping on top of all that, but I suppose nothing was too frivolous, just a bit annoyed with myself. On the plus side we didn't get a take away although quite late home last night: gave the kids fish fingers & us HM lentil curry and there's chicken casserole in oven for tonight.
Need to rejig budgets, maybe the sale on Sat will make us a fortune - it better had the work that I've put into it ironing for 2 hrs last night & still a huge bag to go not to mention the house turned upside down & loads of books to get sorted.
Off to get DS from school - have a good rest of Tuesday!
