    Debt-free and Proud!
Checking in, today was nearly a SFD until realised I needed milk and trashy magazines, £6.69 was spent but that is acceptable given what I could of spent. Eh x

But did you really needtrashy magazines? ;)

Fuggy, go for it. You can get bikinis in Primarni for a 5er (I had mine for ages) and my OH just got walking boots for £30 in Matalan (worth nearly £100, so good quality). This should still leave over half to go towards the debt.

LAGL, sorry to hear about your house nightmare.

Here is the first sock monkey I made. They go into our friends christmas hampers (well the ones with small kids). They only cost me 90p for a sock and the wool I had in the house. They go on Etsy and Ebay for £10-20 . Maybe I should make more and sell them :p

A small spendy day today.. must try harder. Tomorrow probably wont be a SFD either..sigh. Still my thinking is changing and much more consideration being done before spending.:D

Yep, same here! I think I'll probably come in at 18 or 19 SFDs which technically constitutes a 'fail' on the challenge, I guess. But I'm already considering it a success since I now think a lot more carefully about how I spend.

  • I'm really struggling this month! So far I've managed to clock up 8 SFD (hoping for 9th today) That's 4 less than I'd hoped for by this point in the month :( Still, onwards and upwards!

  • Morning all...

    First things first..

KarmaChi - message recieved / not yet replied....sowwy!
Fyggy - get the shoes and bikini.. let's not scare the boys with lady parts showing through ill-fitting swim-wear:rotfl:
Siousxie / Fyggy and anyone else... - yes this money adds to your £100 target..
Stewby - don't stress, the idea is to get back on the horse..
Everhopeful - did you NEED trashy mags...?

So I got to sleep in a little and got up at 0630 instead of 0500. This was to attend the last session of my free dental work that the students at Guys Hospital are carrying out... the appt was at 0930 and it was a proper nightmare getting there (lunchbag swinging it's way through the crowds) and I was decidely dishevelled and hot by the time I got there..

To be told it's actually at 1330 - which I would have remember if I had looked at the letter they sent me.

To say I am fed up and annoyed is an understatement.:mad::mad:

Although - I did walk into WHSmith, parouse the travel magasine that looks AMAZING (£3.99) and the special edition of national geographic (£4.99) and walked out without them.:T

So I am feeling a bit of a mess recently.. like a bag lady with too many "things", even on my way to work. I have fully embraced the concept that less it more... I have decluttered and made piles of "stuff" but todays challenge is to get rid of it all somehow.. or at least make decisions as to where it's going... poor puddy-tat has a veritable obstacle course in my room at the moment.. **meow**

I wonder if I have a dose of SAD. Was seriously contemplating putting my rucksack and shoes that I want.. on my CC..:eek::eek:... but it would have to sit there until December and I refuse to look at any money on my CC any longer than I need to so until I sell enough stuff on eBay to pay for it I shan't make any Cotswolds Outdoors purchases...

Right.. I need to go do things before I leave for the dentist AGAIN at 1230...

Onwards and Upwards...(yesterday was another SFD)...

  • Another spend free day yesterday, and today, because I'm not going anywhere before work. AFD's are going well too.

Got some bread dough proving to make some pizza roll ups to take to work. One of the good things about working a later shift, I have time to cook things fresh, so to speak, before going into work.

I think I'm going to make a lasagne at the weekend, that will give me a few days lunch to work too. Although I guess I should check I have some lasagne sheets in before I go shopping on Friday. I hate when you get all set to make something and then realise the key ingredient is missing!

  • Morning all - a new day at LAGL cottage - kids seem to be coping better too which is a bonus. We are back in house tidy mode and have managed to stash the 18+ banana boxes (they dont flat pack) out of site ready for another potential buyer to look around - not that anyone is booked as yet but Ill be ready for them!! Have washed and ironed bedding - I hate ironing bedding - its not the norm for us but for now it will be done as part of the show home package!! :D

Off to DMIL's at the weekend - it will be good to have a "break" celebrate Great Grandpas 90th and meet our new nephew. :)

Anyway - needed more fuel and shopping yesterday and have to post a parcel today. Going to behave myself as best as I can financially until the end of the month however I did pick up a mahooosive white chocolate gateau from Mr Ts for £3.20 last night - it was reduced from £10 and brought much joy and bigger waistlines to all 4 of us! :p It will do the same tonight too I expect ;)

Right work to do - Kat hope the second dental trip is more successful and pain free!!

    Love LAGLxx
