  • Really struggling with the SFDS ths week. Thought yesterday would be one then Christmas lunch mentioned at team meeting deposits to be in by next fri which is pay day but I'm off so paid mine. Then today had to get petrol & bought sweeties for DS to take to his pals house as I'd blown a SFD I jumped into lid! to pick up rolls for DH as he's hillwalking tomorrow & sandwiches get v squashed. Picked up some milk, marshmallows & some fruit.

On the plus side it's the week before pay day & I still have money left to buy food. Normally I need to either stick on cc or time it to 2 days before & switch knowing that my pay will cover it. V pleased with myself.

    So the scores are:
    SFD 5/20
    Lunch 5/8 miscalculated working days
    Food 132.17/180
    Travel 50.90/75
    Misc 129.50/200
    Toiletries 5.92/10
    Food bank 0/3

Anybody know where is the best place to sell books, besides Am4zon?

They are not accepted on the Am4zon trade-in and people are selling them for 0.01p, so it seems stupid to part with them for so little.

I have had 4 accepted on the trade-in, so if accept them, that's £23.59 made :)

Have 3 items on eB4y, 1 ending tomorrow, 2 ending next weekend. So excited!

I,ll update later on in more detail but I vow to have 7 SFDs in a row from tomorrow till Saturday.

Edit. Sainsburys just came. Glad i got with voucher and cash back 20 quid off 60 because it wasnt worth 60. Some of the packsizes are smaller than thought (i know i should have checked weight byt went by price/unit). But 60 quid doesnt get you much anymore well and saisburys is dearer anyway. That was the first and last time. Gosh thinking back what 60 quid got me 10 years ago when i moved over.

Had a spendy day. Bought some new shirts for hubby at Primarni, and spend £2 in Poundland for a craft project for Christmas pressie. Have spent about £30 on materials for gifts now, but that is majority of pressies sorted!! Jsut will be very busy creating between now and then. Determined that it will not cost anywhere near what we used to spend!! Hopefully a SFD day tomorrow as only church planned.

SFD 11 here for me anyway. DH is rapidly spending away my shopping budget for the month. He came back with reduced mince, steaks and chicken strips and said they didnt count because they aren't regular spends! !!!!!!? Erm I call buying meat a regular spend for many people and I appreciate it is reduced but he is paying for all of this from his account when I pay for the food shopping, which means I have to repay him for it.
He doesn't seem to get that in order to create some sort of budget I need to collect all the receipts in to add them up and that every time he buys stuff thats less money for other things!

    Good morning everyone.

Had a pyjama day today which means that I didn't leave the house at all. This means another spend free day for me.
    :j

That gives me a grand total of 7 so far. And I still have 18 days to get the other 13. Not as many days left as I thought.

Hope everybody has a good Sunday, I think it is pizza day today (with our already bought pizza bases) and cheese.
    :D

Oh... I did do one thing today. I did some baking so we now have biscuits and brownies to last us for the week. This should stop us from buying any sweets which will reduce how often we go shopping.

  • Morning Chickadees....

Deja Vu.. I am back in work for round 2. Might be needed for 12 hours tomorrow and Monday as well which is only 4 days OT per shifts as I have to work 8 per day... better than nowt..

Then I read this article on the Daily Snail and am grateful for every last little scrap I own, eat, see, believe and endure.... Life is not that bad folks..

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2456016/Streets-scarred-drugs-despair-Pablo-Escobars-hometown.html

1 more item ( a £100 pair of shoes ) is being watched on eBay @ £9.99. And since they are 4 inchs and at 5'8" I would look like a transvestitie I am selling them... and the lace that's over them is torn in a few places.. gotta start the bid somewhere eh? Bought in a panic for an ex-boyfriends military dinner - he shoulda paid for them I think...

Aiming for an SFD today as well - nothing needed and am indoors all day. Came to work on my motorbike as the trains don't start early enough - it was fun as I hadn't done it in ages and now I am in two minds about whether I should sell him to go travelling or keep him in storage in NI at my parents....hmmmmm will have to think about this...

So whats everybody up to today? I am really wanting to eBay all my tat so might start listing a few things today and take pictures tonight...

    Genius I am...

Stewby I could eat all that food you have planned...hmmmmmmmmmmmm!! :):):):)

MrsGSR - are you so named because OH has a GSR motorbike and you are effectively married to him and the bike? Or are you the biker?? Or none of the above... that meat ordeal would annoy me a little... so he is teetering on the edge of joining you or fighting back?

Samjangi - what did it used to cost and what is your budget this year for Xmas..?

I LOVE Christmas time. Am determined to get through Halloween and Bonfire night first though.. I like sparklers...:p

    Onwards and Upwards!!

  • Well yesterday turned into a busier day than planned, which meant no eb4ying, but i have managed to swap somethings i wanted to sell for something my brother was selling :) which im going to wrap up for baby dragon for xmas!
Had a spendy day which i knew i would, spent £21.07 on food shopping, cant believe i came out of there having spent so little for the week :)

Was a little angry with dh yest when i found put he's sponsored a friend £10 for a marathon, we only have £100 to our name and he's given 10% of it away. Now i know its a good cause but surely feeding your children and paying bills is more important? Or am i just being tight? Well i hadnt yet given £3 to the food bank, so that £10 will be my charity donation for october.
I honesty think he has no idea sometimes, he keeps on that hes seen lots of lovely things for the babys room, and i keep having to say we cant afford them. He saw some football curtains, so i reminded him that we spent £30 on curtains last month for the babys room, to which he replied that his mother said that maybe we could give them to his brother for xmas.... A brother who we'd be lucky to get a card off!! Pffft i think not. I only spent £7.99 for curtains for my own bedroom in £strecher!

Anyway....rant over, today will be a sfd if it kills me (or i kill dh!)
Still here..... but working on that!
