Do any of you with outstanding debt but it's 0% interest , have savings?
I've got 4 creditors who I pay £3 per month to each one, as suggested by PayPlan. (total debt around 18k)
Th trouble is it will take me 100 years, literally, to repay it.
I've got about £800 savings that is my "just incase" money.
I don't know whether to increase the monthly payment on them all, pay a lump sum off one, share it between them all or carry on with the £3 per month.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this please.
Just for info part of the rules of a DMP is that extra payments that are made are divvied up equally between all creditors so they're all treated fairly. The DMP supporters thread is good for stuff like this, very supportive too https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/44379250 -

On another note I'm going to count my £100 voucher and £18 cheque as money made this month as both weren't expected and a bit of a bonus. Not a sfd today as forgot lunch (oh the shame) Will be better tomorrow!0 -
SFD number 2 today
It was momentarily ruined when one of the dogs ate OHs computer cable. I dashed out to buy a new one but when OH came home he found a spare one in the man drawerI have taken back the cable and so restored my SFD
(I hope this counts NSK?)
Also took lunch to work and didn't eat out

Hi all
A NSD here too. Tomorrow at work we have a stress busting class that includes yoga, all free so that's good
On the down side, DS needs credit for his mobile, which I forgot about
so it will be a spend day. Well done everyone and keep going

Wow this thread is mammoth & it has taken me aggeeeessssss to get through! I was going to say make pea & ham soup but others have already beat me to it
I have a confession to make - I blew my SFD yesterday and the eating out rule. In justification (read excuse) my brother is installing our bathroom this week & there had been a catastophy yesterday (burst pipe, water leaking through the kitchen ceiling and him needing to redo loads of his work setting him back several hours). He was really stressed and working late so I bought fish & chips. I know blew the challenge but felt it was the right thing to do. Should have been more organised and put something in the SC in the morninglive and learn eh??!
Today I was back in the room

SFD no.3! managed to convince OH that I wasn't going anywhere near a shop today so could not pick up any butter. He'll have to make do with dry sarnies till we do the weekly shop tomorrow night!
Also managed to snaffle some free lunch for tomorrow from a training event taking place in our office building today that had a buffet lunch provided. I wasn't on the course, but I sneaked in and filled my empty lunch box when it ended! (that's not stealing, that's waste prevention, right?)
Really inspired by everyone's posts and by tales of debt free house buying...
Am inspired to take the plunge and work out our debt free date this weekend. It's been scaring me, but now I think it will motivate me!LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

I have spent the day trying to order a coat for work, on a clearance site. As a new customer I am supposed to get a 10% discount, the promo code won't work, to phone them would cost, I have emailed them and they haven't responded, so I thought sod the coat I'll have a SFD, but I am in work tonight and I have no chocolate or biscuits in! I can either buy them cheaply at the shop on the way to work, or spend in the extortionate vending machine at work.
Going without chocolate whilst at work isn't an option, so a spend day.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Why oh why in the name of all that is MSE (or Holy, whichever suits you), am I only just discovering this thread now...?? Where have you been while I foolishly strolled into £15k of unsecured debt.
However, I have discovered you all now (and for that I have to thank Frugal Foxy who mistook me for xJoJox on another thread...) but appreciate your month is already underway... So for now I shall pop back into Lurkdom but just wanted to wish you all :starmod: Good Luck :starmod: for the rest of this month...
See you all soon :hello:
