  • Thank you sachatith and Billie-jo

I have totalled up my spend and my effort has paid off - I'm coming in on budget. :j

The biggest delight is the reduction in my frozen pasta mountain. I made a lot of Tuna pasta bake and hubby has been having it for lunch. :D

I've only got a couple of more days until the end of the month and I think that I'll try £265 again for November. Getting all excited and revv'd up.

Oh dear, another spend of £9.30 -- £5.52 was reduced bread in C*-*p in various forms, and the rest in Mr M on two punnets of bogof plums, YS bakewell and some YS breakfast bread muffins and a pizza. Tried to print the Chicago Town MOC but it wouldn't work, and i had promised the girls it for tea.

    Have updated sig.

Oh guys, I just can't seem to keep up with this challenge...spending always seems to get out of control. Going to employ some new strategies for November to try and do this properly!

You'll be surprised what a difference a few little changes will make. Read all the tips on these posts and decide which will best work for you. Maybe make a menu, do a stocktake etc.

When I was in real financial problems I worked out how much I could spend a week, made a list, stuck to the list and only shopped once a week. If you run out - you run out. Just adjust the following week but NEVER go over your weekly budget.

Try to stay out of major SMs. Use pound shops, Al*i, Li*l, F/Foods and Icel*nd and any other cheap shops you have. If you can, grow your own and NEVER throw anything away except real rubbish. Freeze all left overs and use them to make soups. Freeze bread when you buy and defrost as you need.

Once you get into the habit you can then adjust how, and when you shop and start adding in bulk buys. GOOD LUCK
