  • Mr A delivery today, bit annoyed though. Shopping only estimated at £25 and still 3 items were substituted and 2 unavailable which meant I missed out on an offer. So after all that it came to £23.91. Don't know why I shop with them, it's always the same!
Do you fill in the bit which says find a suitable substitute. I find that the substitutes are better (usually) than what i order and they have to price match as well.

Still sticking to our meal plan and today has been another NSD so that's 3 out of four so far since our month started on Friday. :) We do need more packed lunch stuff so I'll have to venture out tomorrow but I've decided just to take a limited amount of cash with me to avoid impulse purchases and limit any unnecessary spending. Will update sig x

Anyone know where you can get sosom*x. Used to buy it for my son who was a fussy veggie and make meatballs in tom sauce. This reminded me and I fancy making some as really tasty and filling.
:hello: Another newbie here - although I have been watching the thread for several months now. I plan to monitor spending very carefully this month - just myself and dh at home. Next month we'll be focussed!! Both also trying to shift excess weight so a double challenge!!

Welcome jttou. Know you will find this thread really inspiring and the people very helpful.

Another NSD today and have up-dated signature.

Could anyone explain the advantages of on-line SM shopping and delivery as I have steered clear so far - liking to pick up YS, special offers, latest dates poss and bargain (?) lines ??

I like the sound of your veggie crumble; do you have a recipe at all please?

Hi. Sorry this is a bit late but I'm trying to cut back on computer time cos I spend too long on here!

The veggie crumble recipe is here -
    http://www.netmums.com/family-food/family-recipes/a-z-of-family-recipes/vegetable-crumble

I used 2 carrots, 2 pots and 2 parsnips. The crumble topping with the nuts and seeds is really tasty. I make two and froze one - with the filling in a pyrex dish and the topping in a freezer bag, and just made it up and put in straight in the oven. We had it with home bake baguettes cos it didn't look like garlic bread would go, and I'll put the garlic bread with the pasta later in the week.

Went to Mr M and spent £42.31 mainly on a variety of dairy stuff,
tins for the cupboard, fruit and veg and loo rolls and batteries. Also some white chocolate buttons for my DD who has just started secondary school and is getting stupid amounts of homework - 3 lots of research and write up type stuff this week. Each piece is supposed to take 30 mins, but anything requiring researching always takes over and hour and more often two. Also, they are supposed to do an hour a night, but frequently get set 3 lots so 3x30 mins does not make 1 hour! Sorry, off topic but needed a rant!

I got the first of the 'spend £40 every week and get £40 off' vouchers so I'm now trying to decide whether to change my shopping pattern and go there each week, baring in mind their dairy free offering is rather limited. I was switching more to Lidl cos it's cheaper overall, but I can't get everything there either.I usually do a big shop on a Monday and top up on Thursday (round the other way this week due to defrosting the freezer today) rotating around Mr T, Mr M and then Lidl/Mr S. Hmm, shall have to think about it.
    May spend - £291.40/£320.00
    June spend - £106.40/£320.00
