Had a trip to the pasta shop yesterday, and spent £4.68 on pasta (I know it's all the same stuff, but the different shapes make a difference I swear!)
Followed this up with a tip to Aldo's today, and spend £21 on food for the week. I did make a slight mistake of going shopping hungry, and all my favourite veg was very cheap! It won't go to waste - I really am trying to eat sensibly just now.
I'm trying to have at least one carb free day a week atm, and would like to try increasing that to 2 this week, but it's quite hard, and seems to be a bit more expensive too.
Also, I saw this article on faceb**k earlier, and thought some might be interested. It's 8 meals for less than £1 each, and I'm definitely going to try No2 (carrot, onion and kidney bean burger =9p per portion):

It also reminds me what I need to get out the freezer the night before. Yet another loaf of bread baked today which is saving us a fair bit as previously we were spending about £1.20 a loaf. We also had roast pork for dinner and although it was only a small £3 joint from mr s it was more than enough for the four of us (all adult size portions) I've also made a raspberry swirl cheesecake for pudding using YS digestives and basics cream cheese, basics lemons & basics eggs and it tasted fab. Tbh I rarely use anything other than basics ingredients for baking and we've never had any problems x
That looks really tasty!0 -
The end of WK 1 is finally here for me. :j
I overspent by £7.28
Bring on WK 2, I'm determined to come in on budget by leaving the hubby at home.'If you are not in the 'arena' also getting your a55 kicked then, I'm not interested in your feedback.' Thank you.0 -

NSD for me today - I forgot to buy squash this week, and had to advise my DD of the benifits of council popNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Done this week's meal plan -
Mon: veggie crumble out of the freezer with garlic bread - I have discovered one of Mr Ms frozen garlic bread's is dairy free!
Tues: HM gammon and apple pie - gammon is the frozen remains from a joint we had a couple of weeks ago and apples from the garden. Never made it before so let's hope I have more luck than I did with my baking spree on Friday! Served with new pots, broad beans and something cheap and orange and wet (eg butternut squash, swede, or similar)
Weds: chicken and chickpea curry in the slow cooker with jackets
Thurs: smoked fish crumble - the freezer should be defrosted by today so I will make 2 and freeze noel Served with pots, carrots and broccoli.
Fri: bacon and chilli tomato pasta - bacon was BOGOF last week and chopped toms with chilli were YS last week and cheaper than plain toms. With baguettes and tinned sweetcorn.
Sat: roast chicken. pots, stuffing, gravy and whatever veg Lidl has going cheap!
Sun: 'sticky salmon' with carrot couscous and baby sweetcorn
Rather too many potato meals for my DH really, but I'm sure he will cope.May spend - £291.40/£320.00
June spend - £106.40/£320.000 -

After having a panic as our freezer is packed to the brim that we wont have no room whatsoever for Xmas goodies we have decided that we will skip a big shop and just buy bits for lunchboxes and fresh fruit and veg, there's a local woman who's running a fresh produce delivery service so we are giving that a whirl her boxes look amazing !
So £15 at c0op and £15 veg box being delivered tomorrow, the c0op was wasted money but needed x:rudolf:christmas groc challenge:eek::snow_laug
