Natwest used to have an older style cash point in the branches - great big push buttons on it (I'm going back to early 1990s)

I realised that if you took out all the money you had in your account from a Natwest cash machine (usually about £20!!!) on the street and then went in and used the machine inside straight away, it let you have the money again, they didn't seem to be linked.

It was so useful when I only had £10 or so left!

Also done the pinching loo roll from work/pubs. Ahem.

I pinched a very large industrial loo roll from a famous tourist site in North Wales once. Kept me going for months.

    Sorry Wales!

When I was a student and use to smoke, I did one very desparate day take all the tobacco out of the stubs and used it in rollies. Of course it was absolutely disgusting, but it fed my nicotine habit just at that moment.......
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

    Debt-free and Proud!
Towards the end of the month I don't eat breakfast at home - just have several biscuits when I get to work (not v.good for my @rse though!)

To get an extra stop or two on the bus/train I used to pretend to fall asleep, then not have any cash in my purse to pay the difference! Most of the time I just got away with it, but on odd occassions i got let off by having a bit of a blub about trying to get home!

Oh, and when my parents went away on holiday I'd offer to water their plants - then I could go sit round there using their electricity to watch TV, loo roll & even raid the freezer sometimes!

That's so funny :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I've got this picture in my head of someone sneaking out of a public toilet with the toilet roll complete with dispenser stuffed up their jumper! :T

:rotfl: :rotfl: No I didn't take the dispenser! It was just a spare roll on top and I think I needed it more than they did :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm ashamed to say I never pay for pay as you park tickets:o

On the few times I've got caught mind you I've paid up gladly, but that only being three times it's cost me £90 so far.

I probably go into town at least twice a week, which where I am cost £2.40  a go, for anything up to two hours. Pretty frustrating if you're only there for 20 mins. But taking that into account that would've made £249.60 this year alone, so I've saved over £150!

When I smoked, I once used all my 2ps/1ps to buy some cigarettes. I then sheepishly had to go back into the shop and write out a cheque for 12p cos I didn't have a light! They cashed it.

When Amy (DD1) was a baby, we spent a week at MIL in winter as wou couldn't afford the heating.

We also used to go to MIL every Sunday and Wednesday so we only had to pay for food for 5 days a week.

Infact, all this was before we even got into debt!!
  • When I was a student I have stolen milk from people's doorsteps and toilet roll from public toilets as I couldn't afford to buy any. Also I donated blood to get free biscuits and tea as I was hungry and had no money.

I don't condone any of this behaviour but when you are hungry it can make you more ruthless!

The last week before payday once I went out and bought the biggest but cheapest deep pan pizza I could find, cooked it and cut it into as many pieces as possible (froze some and fridged some) and had a bit for lunch and a bit for dinner each day (didn't bother with breakfast I just had a big glass of milk when I got to work!).

That bad boy lasted over a week! and all for £1.99.
