Where can I get some for next Thursday?! It sounds so yummy and I don't get paid til friday.
On the plus side I have 1 chicken (4days) and 1 child who has decided not to eat any meat or fish. (She's not even old enough to understand the concept of vegetarianism yet but wont eat meat or fish?) and I've never had fussy children!

    - Buying shoes from charity shops, as well as all clothes

    - Eating cheap muesli for weeks (as didn't have to pay milk bill until end of month)

    - stealing stuff from work to make a BBQ

    - Sleeping at Heathrow airport

    - Buying decent suit from M&S for interviews, returning it next day.

    - I still have a taste for offal, lamb heart stew is great!

It was all a bit unneccessary, but I left home at 17, and was determined to prove I could make it on my own. Going to college after that was luxury lifestyle!

Eating a bowl of pasta every three days to make the bag last becasue it was all I could afford for three weeks. Then I got some money in, and managed to make it a bowl of pasta every day, with some kwik save own brand tomato ketchup in to improve the taste! That lasted two months.

I've also bought octopus because it was the cheapest thing in the shop that looked like meat. It cost about 50p for 4, stank to high heaven when it was cooking, felt like rubber bullets when you were chewing it, and tasted interesting!

This is such a great thread! I can relate to all of these posts :o

I've nicked toilet rolls from work too, plus run birthday cards through the franking machine cos I didn't have enough money for a stamp. Oh I've also nicked lightbulbs from the store cupboard in work cos we'd been sat in the dark the night before (I really hope my boss isn't reading this!)

    Hi Zuludawn

I know calves and ox liver are not the same...i qualified as a chef when i was 17 :D ...the point i was trying to make was that i love OX liver...and yet when eating out CALVES liver is the most expensive and supposedly the best.... and i think it is horrible.... so it goes to show you dont always get what you pay for :D

I also heard of a friend who's mum used to make her dads porridge with breast milk because they were so skint!

Oh god, I hurt from laughing about this one!

Had to use 1p's and 2p's to pay a £1:20 bus fare in order to go down town to sign at the job centre!

It's amazing what a good source of money the inside of a sofa can be! :p

I still remember the accusing glare from the bus driver as I handed over the money :o:confused::o
