Things you've done when things got desperate!

Good Evening All!

This is a bit tongue in cheek, and is in no way meant to be a "tips" type thread!

I know we've all hit our own personal bottom, and so I was thinking about all those things that I've done when things have got a bit desperate that I can now look back on and smile.......... and possibly shed a little tear!!

I have...........

1. Eaten pasta with rock salt and vinegar on for three days straight as I didnt have any money for food!:p
2. I have paid for a loaf of value bread and milk all in 1ps and 2ps:o
3. I gave my best friend an unwanted present for her 21st birthday
4. I have flirted with sales assistant to get a "special birthday discount" in return for my (apparent) phone number!!!

God I feel ashamed!!!!!!!!

Any other confessions?

    Hi there cafcgirl
    I will join in:D
Years ago, before i got married, i had just come of work sick, and whilst they were sorting everything out..i spent a week living on tinned spaghetti on toast....i could have had beans, but at the time kwiksave were selling spaghetti for 3p a tin and beans were 5p...and it probably explains why i cant stand tinned spaghetti:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
but compared to pasta with salt...i guess i was having a banquet :D
im sure more things will come to me....

Pasta - low in fat. Salt helps reduce muscle cramp and vinegar is good for removing limescale.....( )

And as for watering down orange juice - I am sure that this is what top restaurants do, so you are in good company there!

When I was a student, I lived on toast and chips for 10 weeks. Hardly healthy either...

Then I got my grant and bought a Burger King. Health food... ;)

Flashback to 10 years ago when I'd first bought a house:

On payday, I'd buy a massive block of the cheapest cheese and multipacks of burger buns. I'd spend the night making dozens of plain cheese butties and freeze them. I'd take out two a night for the next day's lunch.

For dinner, I'd make a big pan of soup or stew and have it every day, 5 days a week.

Weekends I'd stay in, on my own, and get so p!ssed that I didn't bother to eat.

Oh, I miss my crazy 20s :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
