Hope this might be useful to someone.
Being on a very tight budget and having no landline, calling benifits offices etc have been costing me a small fourtune on my mobile.
So have been looking at various voip providers over the last couple of days
I signed up to sipgate to get a local incoming number (All free). Sipgate offer a out going service but the mimimum credit is £10.
Not having a phone only a mobile i needed to buy ATA/headset or a cheap usb phone.Looking around the tescos usb phone seemed to be the cheapest option on offer at £7.48 with £5 credit
http://buy.tescointernetphone.com/details.asp?idProduct=468
So have signed up with voiptalk for the outgoing side.On signing up they give you 20p to try it out:D I think u need to pay for a incoming number
With voiptalk you can credit it with as little as £1 and you can credit it from any phone dialing a dedicated number
So i signed up with tescos using the free £5 credit then phoned the voiptalk credit line from the tescos account to credit the voiptalk account:D
Dont know why but it cost £1.21 to transfer £1:mad: but hey it was free credit in the first place .
Using eyebeam 1.5 i have set up both sipgate and voiptalk.
So the phone has only really cost £2.48 and i now have both incoming and outgoing
lines with the free credit transfered to voiptalk;)
Both lines are very clear with no echo, i will eventually get a pap2 and a wireless phone when i get back to work.
I could have just used the tesco voip but i couldn't get a good number and i dont like the software.
Thanks to everyone posting info on this site especially Bextech.

I've been using the other Betamax services for quite some time now, I currently use VoIPStunt on my PAP2 SIP ATA, most their other brands can also be run on SIP.
Me too. I've tried to connect to JustVoIP through SIP ATA. It passes registration no problem as i can hear dialtone. But when i try to call it gives me busy tone. Any ideas why?0 -

JustVoIP DO NOT support SIP, you will find similar posting on other internet sites (see http://backsla.sh/betamax) If you look at the their website there are no instructions for configuring an ATA.0 -
