LinkSys / Sipura are now the same company.

I have a PAP2 and it's an excellent piece of kit, however it has two lines, this means you can two accounts (phone services) but each must be on a separate line.

Some of the SPAs allow two accounts, but there share the same physical line. This is handy for some people, others find having two separate lines handy.

I have my PAP2's connected up to several phones, 3 one Line 1 and 2 on line 2, just like you would with your regular phones.

Thanks. Does this mean that each line will have a different PSTN number? This would be confusing for my friends! Or can you link each line to the same number?

You could have both lines with the same number, or a different number on each.

Up to now it has been possible to sign up for endless new accounts with the various Fineara VOIP offerings (Buster, Pro, Stunt etc) and take advantage of the free trial calls offered with each new account. Today new registrations are being declined. Is this a temp blip or a new policy ?? What do I need to clear off my computer so the system can't tell that I have had a previous account ? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software to no avail.

Don't think many people on here will tell you how to cheat the system, seems mighty tight.

Well they did cheat me ! I was one of the first to pay credit into my account only to find that they then changed the rules and put an expiry date on the credit, which I then lost.

I reckon they owe me ...

    Hi Kilty,
I am currently using a Dlink Adapter (VTA-UV) and succesfully unlocked it. It seems a good piece of kit and works fine with SIPGATE for incoming and VOIPCHEAP.COM for outgoing -- it also allows you to use just one phone. What problem did you have when trying to unlock it ?

I think the main problem I had with it was rushing when editing the XML configuration file, putting an incomplete file onto the unit and then it went back to a default locked state and wouldnt let me copy the configuration from it again :(

Anyway, I have a BT Voyager 220v ADSL VOIP router now that I bought from Ebay for £10 and it works with Sipgate perfectly (after a bit of firmware modification but the files are on BT's own servers) :D

PCW refunded the Vonage kit anyway.
