It looks like 12voip is one of the Betamax companies.
I recently joined voipstunt (also one of the Betamax companies)
and from my understanding I will get 120 free days.
If I only make free calls my credit will not be used up.
There is no monthly charge.
I also paid a similiar amount to the one you have quoted, although
I do not remember paying a handling fee.
I think that the company is based in germany so you are paying german VAT.
Including VAT, I paid just over 8 pounds (Will show as 10 EURO on your voip account).
Regards,
Abid
I have just enjoyed 2 days of free calls up to 5 minutes a time
Then the plug was pulled. I had used all my free trial calls.
Impressed with the call quality I just decided to go for it and buy 10 euros credit
I paid with Paypal over an hour and a half ago and the credits still arent showing up and i cant make any calls.
I've emailed them and waiting
Are they always this slow?IWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
I've only ever paid using credit card direct and SMS top up, the credit is added almost instantly, PayPal probably takes a little longer, PayPal wouldn't be a preferred payment method for me with any company. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I signed up with 12VOIP after reading their advertising
As I understood it if I bought €10 euros credit(actual cost is €12.50) I would have 120 free days to call free to anyone in an area they cover as a free destination
UK is one of those destinationd so naturally I expected any UK calls would be free.
No such luck
Every landline I have called so far has cost me €0.01 a minute(or part of a minute).
Even though I paid only 2 days ago and only just started making calls today it says that my free days have expired.
For calls of under 5 minutes I guess I am better off than using such numbers as 18866 because they have a minimum of 5p a call connection
Calls over 5 or 6 minutes would therefore be uneconomical using 12Voip
Even so, it seems that their advertising is either wrong or misleading.
Has anyone else made such an experience?
Heres an extract from their info:
What's the deal with the Freedays?
Buying credits entitles you to 120 Freedays (unless stated otherwise). Before you can call a person in a free* destination you have to add this person to your contactlist. This means you can call all countries in the free* destinations list for 120 days at no costs. When the 120 days are over, you will keep your credit, and the normal rate will be charged for these destinations.
How much will I be charged for my calls?
Nothing! - if you are calling any land line in one of our free* destinations, or any of your online friends.
Calls to all other (PSTN) phone numbers will be charged the applicable tariff for the destination you are calling. Rates are in Eurocents per minute and calls are rounded up to next minute. Apart from that there are no other charges; no subscription, registration, or administration fees!
Heres a list of the countries where its supposed to be free:
http://www.12voip.com/en/rates.html
The * means: *in order to call a person in one of the free destinations, you have to add this person to your contactlist
I did all this but no free callsIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
Sounds like an error, you should be getting free calls for 120 days.
I'd contact them. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I also joined 12Viop, paid my 10 euros and got no free days.
That was 5 days ago. Sent 2 x e-notes to them from their 'Contact us' page. No reply and no freedays yet. I cannot buy any more credits to reactivate the freedays either. Looks as though they have problems.
I have used the associated VoipCheap without a hitch for well over a year now.0 -
Not sure what the attraction of 12voip specifically is.
I've used their InternetCalls 99% successfully for the last 8 months with 120 free days and then just 1cent/minute for UK landlines to soak up the €10+VAT credit still on my a/c. Have friends who've also used their VoipBuster mostly happily.
For my next €10+VAT a/c I'll probably be going to their www.JUSTVOIP.com as that has their usual set up - 120 free days including UK landlines - and just 6c ie 4p/min for UK mobile phones!
However JustVOIP isn't suited to everyone as it has no SIP access - ie only usable via their proprietary PC application.0 -

I am still being charged 1 eurocent a minute and part of a minute
I was even charged for an 0800 number
So far I am very disappointed with themIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -

To top it off there is very poor communications
There is no phone number to call
You can only email them through their websitewhich is slow
Also they state that they will not respond to emails where the question is covered in their FAQ's which leaves me wondering if I'll ever get a reply at all.IWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
