It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

I currently have a fax/telephone/answering machine on a second phone line. Am i right in thinking I can get an ATA, plug the FTAM into it, and do the whole lot using VOIP via broaband thus dumping the second phone line?

Update: After a lot of reading on the web about how difficult sending faxes over VOIP was, I took the plunge and got the Linksys PAP2T adaptor which claimed it could handle faxes. Updated the PAP2T to the latest firmware and signed up with sipgate. Plugged it all together and gave it a go. Pleased to say that the PAP2T does indeed handle faxes over VOIP reasonably well (via sipgate anyway). So second line has gone and the PAP2T also has another phone socket for a virtual third line. Bonus :):)

it looks like 12voip is software only, not sip based so you cannot use your netgear.

How can you use one SIP account for incoming, and another for outgoing?
I have bought (but not yet configured) a PAP2, and have a VOIPSTUNT account, which appears a good value service for outgoing calls, but am having trouble trying to get a UK VOIP-IN number from them (see below).
I do however have a Sipgate account with a Voip-in local number.
Surely you don't have 2 phones? one on line 1 for incoming, and one on line 2 for outgoing?

On the VOIPSTUNT website, it say's for a geographic VOIP-IN number, go to your account page, but there is no link in my account page for such numbers. I have tried to contact VOIPSTUNT, but as per other posts here, they are not big on customer service!!

I use a Fritz Box fon Router, which as well as having the usual connections for the internet it also has VOIP phone connections to plug in a normal DECT phone, along the same lines as the BT hub and Orange Box does, this lets me set up how i want to use VOIP, so i can set up one service for incoming, and one for outgoing.

I would imagine other hardware will offer similar set ups.

As for only using PC software, i'm not sure.

With excellent help from BexTech, I have now got my PAP2 setup and running via VOIPSTUNT, excelent call quality and with a VOIP-IN number from another provider.
I am just lacking voicemail, can this be configured with VOIPSTUNT, or would I need to use someone like SIPGATE, who provide voicemail as part of the package?

As i said its all new to me but from what ive read its possible useing voxbone.
all ive done so far is have sipgate update the sw on my netgear ta612v to v1.2_73 which as far as i kno is the open fw.
what i would like to do now as i have 2x612v is to try and set one up to use with voipcheap.Ive tried some settings but getting nowher i am confused as reading different forums there is a lot of posts referring to level 2 passwords and secret menus
when i access my netgear 612 i cannot see anything like this so im unsure as to if it is still locked i did ask sipgate to install the open fw.I get no responce from requests for help from voipcheap regards setting up.The info regards settings on there site doesnt seem to relate to the options i have on the voip settings in the 612.
