Did you forget to add your friends to your contacts to get the free calls?
Is that the catch / were you went wrong?
Let me know. I was thinking of signing up 'till now.

Yes I did notice that rule from the start and made sure that I added every number to my contact list prior to calling
Into the 4th day since I emailed them and still no response
I emailed them again 2 days ago tooIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
Have you tried their forums over at: http://forum.voipbuster.comIt's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

That doesn't look good.
Think I'll just try and get people on JaJah, if I can persuade them to add PC to Landline calls.

Sorry to hear you're having problems with 12VOIP - it does claim to be a Betamax site/brand and is cross-advertised from the JustVoip site at least, but is offering rather a different payment proposition to most of their sites/brandings -ie it's like VoipBusterPro in charging a subscription as Skype offers.
Personally I think I'd stick to a BetaMax website that offers free calls for 120 days WITHOUT a subscription fee - eg the InternetCalls I've used for 8months+ or JustVoip (which I'll be switching to as it's got cheap UK mobile calls). Still need to have an a/c with Euros in it (ie 10+VAT) but those 10 only get spent on non-free calls (ie non free countries, or UK 08xx calls, 07xx).
The ODD thing about the 12Voip is they seem to be offering a VoIP IN Number for just 1 euro - though not clear what countries that applies to. As you have an account and can get to the control panel do let us know what if anything it says there about VoIP IN.
If you want a subscription model site you may prefer their VoipBusterPro as that is 10 euros for a YEAR not 3 months.
Obviously this is all academic if a site appears to take your money but not give you what you paid for - at the very least complain to PayPal or your credit card company as a chargeback should be straightforward.
Incidentally there's a web blog with quite a lot of info on the multitude of Betamax brands/options at http://www.myvoipprovider.com/blogcategory/Betamax/0 -
for 12voip open programm go to history find the call which says the free calls has been reached(this is the last trial call of free 60 minutes ) click on more info and you will see :
You have reached the maximum number of free trial calls (CODE:30)
Now it's time to upgrade your JustVoip account and make UNLIMITED calls to our free* destinations. All you have to do is buy € 10,00 worth of credit in order to receive 120 more freedays.
You can use your credit if you want to call destinations that are not free, for instance mobile phones. Your deposit will remain intact as long as you call the free* destinations.
Just sign in to your account using your username and password. If you do not have a username, please download the JustVoip application to create one. (CODE:30)
take in mind these would be your first 10 euros ,and it says clearly you will get 120 free days (they have justvoip instead of 12voip how silly are?)
i forgot to say i did this and i dont call for free but with normal rates

I got a response to my complaint through the voipbuster forum from a reseller. It didnt help much.
He pointed out that on signing up for the first time there are 3 options
(option 1.)120 freedays.
(option 2.) 10€ credit
(option 3.) a phone number for 1€
I have to admit that I saw this and chose 10€ credit
Why the choice? Well I was in a dillemma. The advertizing clearly says that if you buy €10 of credit you get 120 free days.
I wasnt sure that if I chose 120 free days if I'd get 120 days but no credit
I have emailed them several times and what cheeses me off most is that they ignored all of them
Theres no help line to call so its impossible to reach them
you can only email them through their website
Does anyone know the number for Betamax in Germany? perhaps that would workIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -

The reason why they can offer such low / good rates is they only have web / email based contact. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I just aquired the following from a voip forum
I think that voip users here will find it very useful
go to http://backsla.sh/betamax
I think the guy who made this chart deserves a lot of thanks. It must have taken quite some compilingIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
I gave up writing to 12Voip's only way of contact being through their website
Instead I sent a message through the Betamax site and got a quick reply.
Doing a bit of detective work I found out the following:
Betamax GmbH & Co.KG
email: anything@betamax.com
website: http://www.betamax.com/
Tel: +4922155405564
Address: Im Mediapark 8 Koln, DE 50670 Germany
Just in case anyone finds it helpfulIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
I was going through the process of purchasing a Voip in number from 12voip for €1.00 and reached the final stage of the agreement but there was no indication of what my incoming number would be.
I know some providers give a wide choice of UK area codes but I dont expect that 12voip does that.
I dont want to find myself unwittingly purchasing an 0845 or even worse, an 0870 number.
12voip appear to be the cheapest provider with good quality calls but their customer service is useless. They never reply to me whatever my question.
Has anyone made the experience of purchasing a number from them?
I'd be curious to know the outcome
By the way, In case it helps anyone. I have Sipgate. I got a UK number with an area code I chose. I get free incoming calls and free voicemail and so far I havent spent a penny.
The only problem I have with sipgate is that call quality leaves a lot to be desired which is why I want a number on my 12voip account. Then I wouldnt need to have both programs open on my computer at the same timeIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0
