Success or not?
I got a ticket from Sheffield Meadowhall retail park in Feb this year.
I went to the Pizza Hut there for a meal and then left the car outside their restaurant and walked up to the arena for a show.
A few days later a parking fine arrives through the door for £60.
I wrote to Pizza Hut on the retail park, explaining I'd been a paying customer (I sent a copy of the receipt) and that I left my car there before going to a concert that night. Their head office emailed back to say they had cancelled the fine for me. Happy days
Yet I still got another letter this week from the company that controls the retail parks car park that I still owed the fine0 -

It is not a fine.
By, the company that controls retail parks, do you mean the landowner/agent, or the parking company?
If the latter, send them a copy of the email from Pizza Hut telling them the ticket has been cancelled by the principle.
This does not mean it is over though until you get something in writing from the parking scammers. What is the name of the parking company as some will continue even after the landowner has cancelled?I married my cousin. Humberside airport cancelled a VCS 'charge' issued after just 4 seconds, stating that in fact they allow a pathetic 30 seconds:

Short story incase anyone experiences the same.
My partner incorrectly input her VRN on the Smart Parking meter at Matalan (Stevenage) and I received a £50 charge as the keeper.
When I explained the situation to Smart Parking on the telephone they were having none of it. The simply said it's the drivers fault for putting in the wrong VRN.
After reading through the forum the best advice I could find was to call the Matalan store and speak to the manager before appealing. I called and explained the situation to a customer service rep who was just about as supportive as Smart Parking. After pushing to speak to the store manager it was to my utter surprise I received a different tone as she took down my parking charge notice number and the VRN and assured me they would contact Smart Parking to have the ticket squashed.
