A warning on Tesco Clubcard points and vouchers - 'expired' vouchers policy change

I received an email from Tesco last week alerting me to the fact I had vouchers due to expire in November. I therefore used them yesterday! Do others not receive emails of this nature, or is it only me?0

Strangely enough I have had an email like this, the only problem was I did not have vouchers about to expire I had used them a couple of months before!!0 -

Bet you wondered if you had lost them! I'd like to know whether people whose vouchers have expired received an email though? Tesco should be consistent.0 -

Are you sure you don't have another CC a/c where these 'soon-to-expire' vouchers are!?
I don't think Tesco's email reminders would be 'months' out-of-date, days or maybe a week maybe but a month very doubtful.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

No I have only ever had one account and it made me check through again.I got all excited thinking I missed some but they had definitely all been used.
And no it was not a week it was several.0 -
Does this mean the points expire after two years or that when you change up your points to a voucher, like for a restaurant, this is what expires?
I've been saving mine up for a couple of years but don't want to spend them yet!0 -

You need to spend them.
The points expire after two years.
When you exchange them the rewards vouchers are then usually are valid for 6 months.0 -

The points themselves expire after 2 years if they haven't been spent or changed into vouchers.
The point of the thread was to warn people about this, because Tesco will no longer extend that 2 year period as they used to.
Astoundingly (and particularly on a money saving website like this) there have been several posts (one quite abusive) supporting Tesco's cancellation of all the value in these points at the 2 year point, but I'm guessing such posts will have come from Tesco employees trying to rationalise this latest piece of malpractice by Tesco.
Best bet is to ditch Tesco altogether. You can't trust their meat to be British, you can't trust it not to be horsemeat, they've been prosecuted for misleading prices, and everything they sell is overpriced.
Try Aldi and save around 30% - interesting thread here:

If you look on any of your cash vouchers there will be a 'valid until .....' date, for example the last ones sent out will say '31st Aug 2015' that is two years from date of issue.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
