and not having to use itunes for everything?

Although I can see the finger print reader getting abused if you leave your phone.... sorry iPhone (we're not allowed to just call them a phone).... unlocked in the pub. It'll go from scanning your finger print to unlock, to scanning your mates todger.

They kinda did, it's call the iPad mini.

To me, any phone bigger than the iPhone 5/Galaxy S4 size looks daft. I know people with the Galaxy Note and it just looks daft.

each to their own i guess though!

I believe they want to preserve 'the ability to comfortably use the phone with one hand.'
either that or save money on screens whilst milking the Ibuyers fro all they can
I'll stick with my HTC One ;)

The S4 is bigger than the iphone. The ipad mini isnt a phone.
I'm just surprised they dont offer a range of sizes.
I love apple/iphone, but I struggle to read texts sometime without putting glasses on.

To change the finger print you have to use the existing finger print first (much like you have to enter your PIN to get into the security settings). The iPhone also identifies if it is actually a finger print so your mates todger would not register as one and could not be used.

The only thing my phone does that my ipad mini doesnt is cellular calls and text messages. iMessage, Facetime, skype, whatsapp, email i use the iPad mini for.
The screen doesnt need to be any bigger, if you need specs to see writing on a screen than use your specs, it's what your optician would expect!

Phones with a keyboard use a technology that's even more advanced than the iPhone's touch screen, allowing you to actually feel the keys you press as you're pressing them! The technology is called "tactile response".

I was very dissapointed with the upgrade. The 5C is just an iPhone 5 with a plastic case and has ios7 on it.

What you should do if you have an iPhone 5 is buy a plastic case. Upgrade the software to ios7 and then you pretty much have an iPhone 5C. The only thing good about the iPhone 5S is the finger print scanner. That to me is not a good incentive to sell my iPhone 5 and upgrade to an S.

Very dissapointed. The only reason people will buy them is just so they can say 'yeah I have an iPhone 5S'. Its just going to be bragging rights over everybody. I would rather keep the money in my bank!

some really Apple geeks will buy the 5S as it's the new model. other buyers will be people who had a 4S on contract and it's due for renewal and they want the iphone offering...
May as well just wait until next year for when the 6 comes out.

Read my first post in this thread from yesterday, there was never going to be a whole new phone, 2 years ago the 4S was unveiled, 4 years ago the 3GS, this was always going to be the 5S. i believe the 5C has been done to differentiate between 5S and 5 (now 5C) models...

These were my thoughts even a year ago. They haven't changed. I'm right with you. Much as a I love my 6th generation iPhone (erroneously called the "iPhone 5) I admit that it was a disappointment. Apple have always been revolutionary. Maybe we're spoiled but I expected a revolution with the 6th gen iPhone and was hoping for it from the 7th gen. Maybe Apple aren't at fault and there isn't really much more that can be done with 'phones. I think Apple and Samsung are down to competing on speed, screen size and quality and camera quality. Nothing more.

iOS 7 is more important (and free) than the new hardware to be honest.

All this said, I'm a technophile. One way or another I'll be getting a 7th gen premium iPhone. Maybe "mug" is the right word?

If all phone makers, and i include samsung and nokia and lg and blackberry etc in this, decided to put all their latest technology into their next handset, imagine the research they would have to do for the next handset, they couldnt do it. I'm sure all these companies have features and designs all queued up, and each year they all do the least they think they need to to launch the "must have device." some companies do a lot, some maybe misjudge it and do too little, but im sure none of them want to put all their eggs in the one basket, because otherwise they're gonna need a load more eggs the following year...

    that's a bit boring then.
