When is your upgrade due? the iphone 5 will still be in stock for a long time, so unless your upgrade is a long time away you'll be fine, or you could buy second hand and go sim only.

In stock unless Apple decides to recall any unsold iPhone 5.

I want apple to make an iPhone with a giant screen like Samsung, I'm surprised they haven't.

    64GB iPhone 5s for £709!!!:eek::eek::eek:

    It's only a fracking phone !!!!!!!

Tbf the 64gb 5 was £699 as well.

    Complete joke tbh

The 5 in its new case and pretending its a budget phone is a joke. You're £100 more for the newer faster 5s. Contracts over the term of the contract will be much of a muchness but the fact they'll have a structured system will "fool" people into thinking their getting a good deal.

5s - £199 (or however much it is) - full price
    5c - £99 - half price
    4s - £0 - FREEEEEE!!

@mrse: the phone is big enough as it is. Any bigger and you'll need a bag to carry it around! Fair enough if you carry a hand bag and if you do and would prefer a bigger screen carry an ipad mini.
  • Oh Dear I paid a full £439 for my HTC one 32GB in metal , maybe I should shell out more money for a downgrade in plastic looks like Apple Corp share price is going nowhere. Still I can get some more use out of my iPad (also overpriced but hey it works)

  • At the end of the day everyone has their own preference.

You can get a cheaper android phone that is more powerful, or you can get a top the range android for similar money to the iPhone 5.

I have an iPhone 5 at the mo and it is the best phone I've owned. I had a string of android phones since the original galaxy i7500 through to the galaxy nexus and even though that was top of the range when I had it I had more issues with speed and app compatibility than I have with the iPhone 5 which just works excellently and quickly.

But that is the nature of each beast. Android works across a range if devices, some of which have little in common with the top end devices, hence fragmentation and compatibility issues.

On the other side android is more open and customisable. Depends what you want.

This time I wanted speed and stability in a top end device that wasn't massive. I see the appeal in the large screened top end androids but they are getting too big for my tastes. Each generation gives a bigger screen and an unneeded boost in core numbers. But that seems to be classed as innovation to some people.
  • As a moneysaver, the 2nd hand market will now be flooded with mint 4s and 5 handsets. As well as suppliers' surplus stock for brand new ones. Won't it?

They kinda did, it's call the iPad mini.

To me, any phone bigger than the iPhone 5/Galaxy S4 size looks daft. I know people with the Galaxy Note and it just looks daft.

each to their own i guess though!

    5S-
    -minor upgrade
    -quicker processor
    -64 bit
    -a few more toys
    -bit better camera.

Not enough to upgrade from a 5 in my opinion, but could be the one for those with older handsets if they want the premium feel that the 5C lacks.

    5C-
The 5 in a plastic case. Looks good quality and plastic hasn't hurt Samsung (which often feel far too cheap for their price tag).

So nothing revolutionary but then the S4 is hardly a massive leap over the S3.

The "S" announcements have never really been anything to shout about, aside from the new feature they unveil with it. The 4S brought Siri, I cannot remember what the 3GS feature was. To me the next "big" announcement regarding iPhones should be next year with an iPhone 6, like it was last year with the 5, and in 2010 with the 4.

Still no damn news about an upgraded iMac range though :(
