still not smoking. thanks to all those that gave their support, much appreciated. I will now come off this thread as I cannot be associated with a person like CK .

I found this old thread on here, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3969171

It's very supportive and just what we need in our initial weeks of stopping smoking.

Good luck with *not ever smoking again* I have just started out but will not be coming on this thread either.

2 weeks and 6 days, and going strong. Yes there are little fleeting moments when I want a cig, but i tell myself that I'd need to go through it all again if I had one. So far so good.

  • Yes I am finer but am confused as can't figure out what i ve missed on this thread!

To the person struggling on the e cig- have you tried a higher strength liquid or a different flavour. Well done for resisting baccy in the house, I could never do that .

I'm thinking of going nicotine free soon with just ecig tobacco flavour, and am sure I will feel so silly, that will be me done. Am on the lowest strength now. Stopped smoking mid sept.

Last time I gave up cold turkey and found a giant battle, all or nothing, of mental strength. Whereas this time with the e cig it's just been an easy but obvious choice- like when we first all went onto semi skimmed milk. I have my sense of smell, cigarettes smell revolting, my singing voice, stopped snoring, got energy and breath and all the good things without any effort. I have small food cravings, but as it's so easy, I know what they are and really should stand up to them more. That's this months challenge.

I think the person not getting the lots of smoke from the ego (sorry should have quoted) may need to try a different type of liquid. One gives a better throat kick, while the other gives more smoke... I just can't remember which is which, but a google search around should find it better.

The baccy in the house isn't bothering me at all, even the fella smoking next to me isn't bothering me.

But it's still early days. I have patches here and quick mist, just in case my ecig fails me. That's how determined I am this time :rotfl:

Thx tattycath, the support means a lot. Well done to you all.

Bess well done on attempting the nic free. I've got a strong bottle of tobacco flavour here unopened. But once I got into the flavours, I've never felt the need to open it. Love the aniseed, menthol and banana, no likey the blueberry tho. The menthol is like sucking on a stick of rock with no calories :D

  • So It's been somewhere between 6-7 weeks for me now. I don't think of having a ciggy on a daily basis anymore, though there has been the odd morning when my trousers feel a little tighter and I blame that on quitting instead of my laziness!!

    I *think* this officially makes me a non-smoker :T

Now to curb the snacking habit and get my somewhat larger butt over to the gym. Maybe I'll leave that for after Christmas though, would hate to miss out on all those goodies!

  • I found this thread while browsing, and there's a very supportive group here.

I wanted to post a really cool pic telling you guys not to give up, but the forum settings disallowed me to.

Keep up the good effort and don't give up quitting! You're almost there!
