Stoptober club 2013 - Lets have another go!

I ran the Stoptober club last year, and was unfortunately one of the failures!
The deal is, to stop at midnight on October 1st, and survive the month, with the health and financial benefits that come with this! I know the NHS say 28 days, but the MSE Stoptober club is 31!
Lets have a go again, anyone (not just DFW'ers) can join! I'll update the member numbers as people comment.
Here is the thread for last year.

I need to join this again. I managed right up until the week before Christmas last time (can't believe I was daft enough to re-start).
Can you put my name down please CKhalvashi.
This time I intend to put my smoking spends into a pot so that I can treat myself to a new outfit after Christmas, in the sales. We were so skint last year I let the money disappear into the groceries which didn't really motivate me.
Good luck everyone. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Done for you Penelope, and good luck again this year!
I'm intending to put the £12ish daily spend to one side, but not decided what for yet. Something I did find useful last year was taking the £10 out in cash daily; £300 at the end of the month in cash may make you realise how much is actually being wasted on smoking.
This should be put in an envelope, for obvious reason, and not spent.

I won't be joining since I don't smoke but just wanted to say I admire your fortitude CK and everyone else trying to ditch the evil weed for that matter.
The very best of luck to you:)Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

good luck!
it's my one month anniversary of not smoking cigarettes today!
i don't know how much money I've saved but we're not buying a pack of rolling tobacco a day - which is good for me and good for the wallet!!

I just wanted to wish you all luck
I quit smoking just over 3 years ago and have never regretted it.0 -
Well done guys, and thank you!💙💛 💔0

I was talking to colleagues about stopping smoking the other day, the hardest mind-set I had to break was the association game.
I would think to myself "oo I'll have a nice cup of tea and a cigarette"
Or I'll just do this chore then I'll have a cigarette, it became like some kind of reward to myself. Going down the pub was always a nightmare danger time as well.
I found the mental cravings to be worse than the physical ones.

Good luck all..Remember to treat yourself..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
