end of day 23 . Breathing and singing much better. hoping not to go back on the cigarettes but it still feels like 1 puff and I'd be in heaven .

Didn't know stopping would improve my singing... Probably won't as I couldn't sing before I stopped either :rotfl:

Now on 11 days, and although I want one, I'm more determined than I've ever been to get off them. Really had that hairy moment on Friday, when the pain was so bad that a smoke would have made things ever so right! But I got through it. So happy with myself that I haven't cheated.

The money I've saved has covered my ecigs and then some, expect to see the savings from next week on :)

    Well done everyone x

Day 12 and I'm finding it really hard today, been sucking on my ecig like a stick of rock :) Been a bad pain day, so expect to have off days like this when I really want one. But I haven't done it :)

Got a drawer full of baccy upstairs too that I brought back from hols. I'm sure the fella will be glad to take it to his to take it out of temptations way :)

Well done to you all for sticking with it :T

I gave up trying earlier in the month but I'm back on it now as from today. Well we're still in October right!!!

Patch been on, have had a blinding headache and expecting more of the same tomorrow. OH had a smoke after his meal tonight and I wasn't tempted at all, and I'm quite determined to stick with it this time.

I gave up smoking 2 1/2 years ago, just wanted to say to people that is does get better. About six months after I quit, cold turkey, I got the urge to smoke at a party, it was DISGUSTING! I have never gone back and even though I occasionally think about it when I see people smoke (my husband is a smoker) I hate the smell and I can't stand being around people who smoke now (Well, besides the husband..!).

Stay strong everyone - you can do it!

Other people smoking isn't bothering me at all. The fella smokes roll ups, which smell rank anyway. The dd smokes cigs and I love the smell of a freshly lit one. After that it smells disgusting. Finding it strange to have my sense of smell come back already :D

How's it going for you? I'm on day 25 and still going strong!
Thank you for starting this thread, it's good to see other people in the same boat.
Well we're in the last week of October and I haven't been allocated a number yet...
    Continued good luck everyone.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm planning on making this time the last time I quit as I don't intend to start again. :D

Sorry Cath, I've had other things that I've needed to deal with outside the forum. I'm still going at it and hoping not to start again.

I'm better than I was; I collapsed at work, nothing too serious. I'm back in Georgia for half term, and driving the girls to Grozny tomorrow as the Russian border is open.

We'll be so busy when I get back for a month, I'm probably not going to have time to smoke, even if I wanted, so that's good!

  • Ok so here it goes my second newbie challenge plunge for November.

Please can you add me on this one I tried last month for stoptober before I looked into the MSE forums and help (yesterday) but with two friend and family members passing, plus the worries of money and health problems, it all got a bit much, though I did manage to cut down considerably (to about 3-5 vs the 5-10 a day. :) )

I did substitute some smokes with the ecig last month but as this is a much cheaper way to smoke I'm allowing myself the ecig through Nov as phase 1 of giving up.
