Hi, I've only just seen this new thread.
Count me in please. I fell off the wagon earlier this year.
I had my last cigarette on 30th September 2013 at 2330.
Not sure whether it is coincidence but I feel really tired, ratty and found it difficult to sleep last night.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi Tattycath, my sleep has been rubbish the last couple of nights too.
Someone will probably quote the real medical reasons, but I like to think its just my body giving the nicotine a final push to get shot of it (ha, ha, a bit like 'go, walk out the door, don't turn around now, I don't need you anymore!').This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

Managed ok today, but having a difficult evening. Not even choccie biscuits are helping. I think I might have to go to bed soon. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Work for me tonight. I normally have 1 before I go, another 2 when I arrive, 2 at lunch and 1 when I get home.. It's gonna be difficult and I didn't have a proper power nap today so I've been awake since about 2.30pm.
Hoping my energy levels will increase soon.
Well done everyone so far.
At half 11 tonight it will be 48 hours since I had a smoke.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

We need some chirpiness on here tonight x
Hope everyone is getting on ok, if not come one here and moan and see if we can talk you through it.
Tattycath, good luck at work x We finally found my hidden pack of baccy and papers in one of the lockers today and I donated it to their smoking stash (whilst sadly noting the lack of fag breaks I am now taking). Was nice to leave the smokers outside in the rain this afternoon though x The sleeping thing will all turn out ok in the end x
Keep going all, even if its just the money that motivates - its all a bit less tax we are paying out x(and obviously our lungs are probably just about breaking into a smile at this point into the journey).
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Sorry everyone, I fell off the wagon this morning. I had what looked like a family crisis, and I know I just used it as an excuse.
Efforts will be re-started tomorrow.
Thanks to Kiwisaver for the kind & supportive post.0 -

Are you feeling ok, don't stress yourself even more if you don't need it. 28 days are good, whenever.
Good luck for re-starting in the morning xThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Penelopedee and Tattycath
Disturbed sleep or sleepless nights are a common symptom in the early stages which is due to anxiousness and nicotine withdrawal. As Kiwisaver suggested, lots of sips of water and deep breaths will help as does camomile tea or a hot bath before bed.
To help combat after meal symptoms try going for a walk around the block if you feel up to it. This also has the added benefit of light exercise should you start indulging on treats and goodies.
I put on a stone in the 2 months after giving up but once my body started regulating itself and combined with watching what I ate, it wasn't too long before it started to gradually drop off.
