HPoirot, I'm with you, lets pick a day............................I have to do a school fun run on Saturday with DD????
    You up for that day???
  • Good luck HPoirot and Toochoosey, you can do it.

Mr B Hedges (in the early years) and Mr M Lights later on were my best friends or so I thought but it was a toxic relationship. I was doing all the giving whilst they did all the taking!! ;)

unhelpful twaddle. Are you having a boring evening or is it a power thing?!
No, i'm an ex smoker who spent 10 years smoking 4 oz of tobacco per week (roughly 60 roll ups per day) and 3 solid years trying to quit. Once you know and see smoking for what it really is you will give up with zero 'withdrawals' at all. The stuff that everyone else is saying on here is complete nonsense.

Calling my advice twaddle? I guess that's why i've given up and you lot are still trying to quit?

I stopped one day and haven't smoked since. No replacements, no therapy, no withdrawals, no nothing.

Why would i need therapy to give up something i hate? I don't like being kicked in the nuts, god knows i wouldn't struggle to give that up. :T

You're in the wrong place, this is a support thread not a free fest for smugness or offence.

I've given up earlier, smoked 4, and chucked the rest of the pack in the bin. The reason for this is that I'm waiting for (cancer-related) blood tests tomorrow, and I feel sick thinking about it.

Maybe also, the stress of working a 14+hr day, whilst unwell, then coming home and sorting two children out isn't enough of an issue, too?

I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you.

    Hi everyone.
Went to see a friend last night-there was wine
I succumbed to the wine... Was quite tiddly when I got home.:o
I am still smoke free though! :T I'm not even hung over! :A

Thanks Candlewick, but I haven't got headache. I have aches in my abdomen-sort of ribs/lung area. X

You're all doing great and well done HPoirot and TooChoosey for deciding to take the plunge. :T

Being at home is good on the first day because you can do whatever you need to do to keep yourself busy and distracted. I had the cleanest house ever on the first weekend when I stopped.

It will be a long day, it will help if if you can prepare yourself a selection of chopped fresh fruit or carrot sticks and things that you can munch on at will.
