That's something I suppose.
What about the fact that a dog is suffering because the family she has been placed with cannot meet her needs?0 -

Oh they haven't dropped the matter they are coming out this week to do a thorough home check (their words) and to basically see what is what. A fence went up this morning so I'm assuming they know about the visit. The dog has been kept in since we made the official complaints the other week, well more than usual anyway so i'm happy enough. They've also been walking her a lot more. I can't see behind their closed doors but i'm hoping that she is happier. She has started barking, howling and making an awful noise when left alone just recently, i'd never heard her make a peep until the other week. I think she's bored for sure, I just hope she's not unhappy. I really can't do anything else though:( My welfare & the police have advised us just to keep away from them completely because they are so unreasonable and were basically making my life hell because of their short-comings with the dog. If I thought the dog was being abused or seriously neglected again though I would have to do something, but it seems things have gotten slightly better for her.Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. As you can see from above post a fence has gone up :T. I feel much happier knowing we don't need to see each other now when we go outside.
Today will be a NSD because we don't need anything. DS1 is insisting he wants a haircut NOW though *rolls eyes*. When I insist the dishwasher needs emptying now, that is the reply I get alongside a "whatever".DH has gone to work with the car so unless ds1 walks into town alone he won't be getting one!
I'm doing a meal plan for next week and trying to keep within the £80 budget for the week. I bought all the cupboard items in last weeks budget so hoping I can make this £80 stretch for the whole week.
I transferred £116 from my current account last night, into the ISA, BY ACCIDENT *argh*!!!!!!! I couldn't get it back out because if I take money out of the isa i lose interest! The kids and DH were all talking to me whilst I was trying to do the banking and i lost track of what I was supposed to be doing :wall: which was transferring money from Bills account to the main account for Monday. Instead I cleared every penny from the main account to the isa! What an idiot!!!! I took £50 from the emergency fund so the main account wasn't empty (in case of any pending items I've forgotten about!) I can't believe myself sometimes. I would be a useless book-keeper hey :rotfl:. Good news is the ISA is now £116 up :rotfl::rotfl:, and I will update signature now to make me feel better about my mistakes. Emergency fund is now down £50 but I will pay this back next week with the child benefit so hopefully all will be well come Monday!

Afternoon all,
Spends today: £79.24 on the weekly shopping :T. In on budget. BUT then we went to get some food for ds1 (he'd given me a list and a £10 note to cover it....all junk food so he buys it from his pocket money) and someone had stolen the £10 note from my handbag whilst walking around a1di. I paid for it £6.69. Meant I went over on the food budget this week because I borrowed the money from there. I just hope whoever stole it used it for food and that they really needed it. If not I hope they choke on it (just kidding). So food budget is now over by around £6. I am also very thankful that they didn't open my purse as I had £90 in cash in there from my food budget envelope (£80 for the budget and £10 in case of going over.....good job I included that extra tenner hey )
Meal plan this week is simple as lots of after school clubs and to be honest doing the nice dinners whilst running to and fro from school is getting too much. It's stressing me out, they moan because it's healthy (not my kids the other 3) and it's more expensive to make anyway -as it's usually more nutritious . So for Monday-Thursday it's 2 pasta meals, 1 sausage & chips meal, and a shepherd's pie. The nicer meals are saved for Friday-Sunday when I have more time and I get more appreciation for making them. I think I might continue in this way too until I don't have the kids anymore. My kids eat a healthy packed lunch at school with 2-3 of their fruit/veg in it a day and a probiotic drink so I know they will be ok. The amount of veg I have thrown away off the 3 kids plates that I look after is horrendous and makes me so  so I think this is the only way to do it.
Very high winds here, wish the sun were in the back garden rather than the front then I could peg out the washing :rotfl: it'd be dry in no time
Edited to say: blueberries are 69p in a1di! And strawberries are £1.00! We've stocked up!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

Hi DFW.
Thats terrible regarding the money that was stolen, like you said a least it was the £10 and not the £90.
We are the same with meals at the minute, sat, sun, mon are the days we eat better, wed and Fri are a right off and we usually end up eating pizza or cheese toasties and chips, just don't have time to do anything else with all the kids different after school activities.0 -

We've found a yummy dinner that takes 2 minutes (well ok around 15 minutes...most is preparation though). Pitta bread, smeared with tomato paste, topped with grated cheese or mozeralla & your choice of topping. Shove it in the grill for around 2-5 mins (depending on how hot yours is, ours burns everything within 5 mins :rotfl:) and voila, a cheap and tasty & very quick pizza :TMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. [STRIKE]Morning[/STRIKE] Afternoon (where has time gone today!)
Money matters:
Money in:
Child benefit has been paid in £47.10.
I've made £8 on selling some old clothes last night (to try and cover deficit of stolen money, have done that now :T)
Money Out:
£7.10 into the ISA (rounded down bank to £40 left)
£50 back into the emergency fund that I had borrowed to keep account in the black :T
So all savings are on track at the moment. The child tax is due tomorrow so I will transfer some of that straight to ISA and keep back a bit to keep accounts in "safe" amount of black.
Housework:
Wash done and hung out on airer (my heated airer)
Kitchen re-cleaned after DH did his version of cleaning :wall: :rotfl:
Dishwasher emptied and reloaded and has finished so need to empty again.
Dinner is out
Need to do: hoover upstairs, put a loaf of bread on, put another wash on timer to be finished as kids go to bed (and hopefully other load will be thoroughly dry to take off airer).
NSD today as no kid's clubs :T and no planned spends.
I had a friend around this morning and my (nice) neighbour popped in too, my friend is looking to move within 18 months like me and heard that I was doing the same ....we are looking to move to the same area :T so were comparing notes on how to get out of here a.s.a.p :rotfl:.
Doggy wants walking and I want to hibernateit's chucking it down outside and cold and windy! I'll convince him a cuddle is the best way forward I think and take him on the school run so he gets out for half hour at least
.
Doctors appointments have been booked after I got several reminders about having a smearI hate them but know I need one so have booked in! Have an asthma review the same day but appointments are an hour apart, so will have to sit in a waiting room with sick people spreading germs for at least half hour in between. Might sneak off to the car with my book and come back in before the next appointment. Really could do without being ill as both my smaller kids are full of cold again and a nasty cough. Rain rain go away, sun please come back!!!!!:D

Savings to date:
Isa: £3703/25000**
Rental Fund: £645/3,000
Car Fund: £460/1,000
Emergency Fund: £1,102/6,000
Also have a few hundred quid scattered between other funds.
**Being realistic I will have to revise my aims for saving £25k. Initially this was to be saved over 5 years, but we are now planning on moving next summer so only a little over a year left to save. I have the £4000+ due in a month (or before) so that will take my savings up to nearly £8k already and then I aim to save another £8k at least before we move. Not sure if it's doable but i'm happy to trywe will then have over £15k for a deposit if we can get a mortgage. We will also be hopefully getting a £15k interest free loan from DH's work so i'm hoping £30k is plenty for a 10-15% deposit as well as fees?!
