Bit of a quick one as i've clumsily cut my finger with a bread knife and can only type with one hand (other one is elevated in an attempt to stop bleeding
)
i've bought a printer finally! So policy documents printed off and ready to send to get my money :T and no point in sending it recorded as address is a po box, i remember the PO lady telling me last time there isn't usually anyone there to sign for them. So fingers crossed it will get there safely
Also been to Homestart today and finished everything up that I needed to! So just awaiting police checks and will be finally placed as a volunteer
I also spent £15 in boots on some toiletries, all on offer & needed and saved myself £6 :T
Off to PO in a mo to post the letter and also take dog out for a walk. I've put a chasseur on for dinner in the SC, just need to make some rice or mash with it.
Oh and a proud mummy momentMy DD has skipped 2 reading levels in the last 2 weeks and I got a lovely note in her home diary saying that I must be doing a great job with her reading at home because she's moved on so quickly :T

Marvellous.
Well done to your littleun!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I think you are doing really well managing all the pots now you are DF. I hope I will cope as well when my time comes. I have learnt to be tight for so long now I am not sure if I know how to spend lol.0

Finger has stopped bleeding :rotfl: finally! I woke up with blood on my pillow and i'd squashed it whilst sleeping and it had bled everywhere! So sheets changed and finger cleaned up and it's now stopped bleeding finally
. I'm such a ditzy mare, honestly!
Skint you should be a poet :rotfl:
Robin the spends on bins were definitely worth it even DH was impressed. And that takes some doing with bins:rotfl:
Thank you Granny, slm & Lam, when I feel down I log onto my mobile banking app and look at my pots and realise I have done well and it will continue and I WILL escape here.
Thank you Mummy my DD was so happy to have passed the little boy I look after in reading as he was a fair few levels ahead of her when we started looking after him. He's so uninterested in learning though and she's always keen so it's paid off for her :T
Well today is chucking it down outside, really cold, really grey, really wet & windy. I used to love february because it meant my birthday, obviously once you pass 25 you gradually hate seeing your birthday come round anyway so now I hate this month for 2 reasons, I get older and it's always cold! Only redeeming feature is it's a short one on my spreadsheet so money feels like it goes further :rotfl:.
I heard some awful news yesterday about my (nice) neighbour's parents, they had a very serious accident (actually all over sky news i'm not sure how I missed it until I was told) and it's made me so thankful today of everything I have. It's things like this that make you realise your petty concerns and troubles are just that, petty. I called my mum this morning just for a chat as it made me realise I don't talk to her enough. :A I aim to rectify this!
In money news, I'm aiming for a NSD, I will finally catch up with all my spreadsheets & spend diary and try to see how much money we have left and if there is any more I can allocate to savings. I posted the letter off yesterday and the PO lady said it could be sent recorded because it was a different type of address to the one she'd said no to last time *confused* I paid for recorded as was only £2 and will hope for the best!:T Right anyway off to do those spreadsheets before I lose motivation!

Hi DFW
Wow that cut on your finger must have been bad to still be bleeding in the night. Poor you. I am clumsy too so I am sympathise.
Well done to your DD on here going up reading levels. I have a similar situation in my house, where Ds can't ever be bothered and took forever to get through all the levels, but DD is really keen and has been a free reader for ages. I don't think DD is particularly more clever than Ds, but making the effort and trying hard can get you there so much quicker. Girls for you.
Hope you kept your mojo long enough to get your spread sheets up to date. I hate it when I leave mine for too long, it helps keep me on the straight and narrow if I do it every day.
Off to tackle cleaning the bathrooms0 -
I have done the spreadsheets :T , You're right Steph it's best to do them every day otherwise it all seems a bit too much and I leave them. All done now and finances looking ok. I want to get to the end of next week and see where I am money-wise before transferring anymore to the savings. I have promised mum that I would go to hers next week so that will be £25 petrol and probably the same in food just for a day or so (she's not got a lot of money so I never go and eat all her food, I buy everything in myself when I go). I also wanted to go to the cinema with the kids to see the lego movie (I think I am most excited by this though, perhaps I should just go alone and save money
lol). So potentially another £30 there. Things are so expensive! Never mind I won't moan, instead I will be thankful that I have the money, even if it means less for savings
Oh and the cut was pretty badI cut from the pad of my thumb (where your fingerprint is) all the way to the nail and right into the fleshy part it's pretty big so that's probably why it kept bleeding. I have to watch it even now as it keeps seeping. I've cleaned it loads so hoping it will just dry up sooner or later
clumsiness should be my middle name!

Sorry to hear about your neighbours parents
, but good to hear you have reconnected with your Mum more because of it.
We've just been discussing going to see the new lego movie this weekend as an advance screening. I say it's because I've got a buy one get one free voucher that runs out next Friday, but it's actually because I'm really looking forward to seeing itXx

Oh lucky you! Literally
we never seem to get offers from our cinema! It looks funny with lots of jokes that us oldies (I.e anyone over 10 lol) will like :T I can't wait!
I've had a proper rushed morning and I'm glad its all over school-run wise until later! Ds1 missed his bus so we rushed him to school and I think he may have been 5 minutes late but nothing too bad and we had to rush back to get smaller two in on time! They made it to the playground just as the bell started. Phew.
The dog next door is howling and Duke is pacing the house wondering where its coming from, silly dog lol. I've not walked him since Tuesdayand he's not impressed. Thing is it hasn't stopped raining since then and I know what he's like I'll get him to the field and he will run and hide in a bush. Same thing happens every time but I'm still getting sad looks begging for the walk anyway! It looks like it might stop today so as soon as it does I'll take him in case it starts again later....
Must check bank as had some stuff pending. I've taken £500 cash out over last two days and filled envelopes and paid school trips etc and hoping I have no unforeseen spends so it will last me. That will mean I can transfer child benefit straight to savings to recover what I've taken from the deposit money being returned to me. I must keep on track and focussed so we can make that move next year. And the more I save the better the choice we will have!

Not a nsd today as DH had a rubbish day at work so I bought us a bottle of wine to share. Money from pocket money though so that's fine.
Had an official apology from the r $ pca today apologising for their mistakes and confirming that procedures for re homing are being changed (this is for the small branch not the r $ pca as a whole) as well as the person who made the mistakes had gone. :T
Dinners for the weekend are sorted but will make a menu plan for next week, mainly veggie to save some penniesMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500
