Oh does it?! I didn't realise it would have any impact on the credit score, thanks for telling me :T

Indeed, as does being on the electoral register (both applicants).
The £50 is for t.v, phone & internet but as we had just left sky they kept ringing us trying to get us back and they offered us a full package for free on the t.v for 6 months. We get free movies & all the kids shows so we use our sky box rather than the v1rgin box :o (I couldn't get used to the v1rgin remote i'm not very technically minded :p )

Gawd. Sounds very complicated. Glad my kids grew up before such facilities became "must haves", lol.
  • This afternoon I had my frugal treat :money: a hot stone massage, it was lovely, relaxing, and I left feeling in a zen-like state :T best £15 i've spent in a very long time :j. However as is usual in my life with lots of kids I came back down with a bump! I ended up being 5 minutes late for picking kids up and the eldest girl i childmind had a complete meltdown over it ~this was her--->

    *sigh*

Wouldn't mind but i'd rung my friend and asked her to just let her know that I would be there within minutes but my friend couldn't find her! Other 4 were totally UN-bothered .

Then the kids spent ALL afternoon fighting. Broke my only working tape measure and 2 ended up with big red lumps on their heads when they ran into each other. I switched the film off that i'd put on as a treat, took the leap pads away and made them sit down for an entire hour to read and do puzzles. Imagine the horror on their faces. :D. I got my own back and then some for them screaming and shouting and being general PITA!:D

I still needed chocolate when they went though:o my body craves it when I stress!

My 2 younger ones went to bed at 6.30 :T and listened to their meditation c.d. DS2 falls asleep 5 mins into it every time :rotfl: but DD listens to the whole thing and says she loves it, she's certainly been sleeping better since using it :T.

Robin funny you should say the electoral roll as i've always made sure i've been on it as I knew it impacted your credit score from the last mortgage I got but DH was insistent it had nothing to do with it and has never been on the electoral roll on this house only the last one (I called and checked the other day) we've sent the letter off to put him on now so I hope that's corrected soon :) Especially considering he's the main earner and his score is 1/5  we've a hope in hell at the moment to get a house but we're still not letting up till we've been refused :p

What a pity after such a lovely afternoon / experience.

I can sympathise. I'd been gifted a spa package (three treatments) at a 5-star hotel in London by my bosses. I'd had a wonderful time, enjoying the relaxation rooms, spa pool, steam room, as well as the treatments. I was in the process of floating out of the hotel - only to be confronted by the nightmare that is Knightsbridge, just by Harrods, on a Saturday afternoon a week or two before Christmas. Goodbye zen feeling ...

C R A P isn't it! I felt on a high coming out of there and yet 40 minutes later I was trying to break up a fight, do the dinner, make a salad, read with another child and get the dog in from the garden :rotfl: Oh well was nice whilst it lasted! And your spa package sounds wonderful! I need me one of those!!:D

  • :hello: Morning all!

    DH is home today :j.

I've got a few jobs to do today which mean me calling people, which I hate as they always put you on hold and our phone is so expensive! I will search on say no to 0870 for a free number....let's hope i'm lucky and find one.

DS1 wants to go to a5da later on to exchange some trousers he bought as they were too big. I hope they have the smaller size in stock otherwise it will mean us trawling through town tomorrow no doubt :wall: he's decided that he needs black school trousers and not charcoal now. Typical after i've only bought 2 pairs in September (and remember he's in men sizes now so these won't be cheap!)

Should be a NSD though as I don't need anything. Famous last words though I bet :rotfl:.

  • Morning DFW.

Shame the children fighting ruined your Zen moment. Maybe next time try to book it first thing after school drop off, so you at least have the rest of the day feeling chilled before after school chaos hits you. ;)

Good luck in ASDA today, keep your blinkers on so you don't get suckered into any so called bargains. xxxx

Omg the brownies are lush. Full of calories :o but lovely!! I got the recipe from Froogs blog (frugal queen) they have coconut in too :)

Yep i've been making my own washing powder for a while now as kids skin was reacting to shop bought, and the price of shop bought is huge compared to when you make your own (if you do 10+ washes a week like me you've probably already noticed it's expensive!)

How do you make the washing powder DFW?
I don't do a wash until Sunday! I Just let the clothes pile up and then do it all at once...I do get my mum to iron them though because I can't iron to save my life :p
She used to wash them as well but I don't know how many clothes she's 'lost' just from moving them from the washing machine to the dryer!!

  • Domayne:
1 cup (around 290g) of borax (I use borax substitute from @mazon)
    1 cup soda crystals
1 bar of household soap grated

Mix together and done! I use around 4 tablespoons in each wash with either some white vinegar to soften (and it cleans WM out at same time ;) ) or conditioner (if I fancy spending my money on it :p)

  • Afternoon!

DH is back so I sent him on the school run and i'm having a quick catch up here instead :T.

I did my phoning around jobs. Very good outcome too :T. One of them was just to get landlord to sort out a few problems in house and the other was to rectify a mistake on my n0ddle account. It was showing that I had a CC with a £2900 limit at my mum's old address and in my maiden name so I rang them up and asked if I could close it down and they asked if i'd like the card transferred to my new name/address and to keep it :j why, ummm, yes please :D. So they have updated address and I need to send marriage certificate & proof of address and I will have a new "credit building" card :T. Just DH to sort out now with one and we can start to build out credit score back up :).

I also received my wellies and they are lovely, although dirty now after taking dog out for a walk! He was confused as I put my wellies on in the house and I never wear shoes in the house so he followed me for half hour into every room whilst I was doing my jobs (with wellies on :p) I gave in after that and took him out:rotfl:

DH has been saying he wants to move us sooner than next year but I don't feel it's the right time so i'm actually trying to talk him out of it. Can you imagine that, me who hates living here, talking my husband out of letting me move  he was as confused as I was I think :rotfl: But i've got my reasons so I must try to stick to them....it's nearly a month down in the countdown anyway so it'll be 17 months then ....(yeah that number seems a long long way away actually :()......!

Yay to new wellies :) I have a few pairs but they take a fair battering at the yard and never last very long - I have industrial type ones now.
