ds1 got his new school shoes which were half price :T I got the two little ones to see Santa which was free
and we get a pic to download from fb on Tuesday! DD asked for a new house and birds house I wish I'd taken a picture of Santa's face:rotfl:!
Yesterday I decided at 6pm the house needed deep cleaning  DH was not impressed :rotfl: I always nest at chrimbo time I have to make sure that the house is sparkling for the dusty Christmas decs:cool: :rotfl: I've got rid of 2 bags for charity and 5 recycling bags and 6 bin bags of broken toys/ rubbish
I do clean honest!
I bought storage today so finished it off and we're moving a cupboard to the garage as we've not a lot of room and the living space looks much better noweverything is clean and tidy and the tree can go up whenever we find it in the garage now
. I've also a roast cooking whilst cleaning and I could smell it whilst doing it and I'm starving now !! I forgot to have lunch as I was in cleaning mode. Dh really thinks I'm mad and took kids out (I was glsd meant I could throw more away:rotfl:)
I've a few decs up that I bought (bunting and cushions) and am feeling festive now :xmastree::xmassign:
Know that feeling well, I am constantly turning up for things on the wrong day or forgetting to go altogether. I do wonder what has come over me this last year or so !! :rotfl:
Glad you are feeling festive, we managed to get a few decs up yesterday, its all looking quite twinkly and christmassy now xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Emergency Fund / Rainy Day - £5500 . DMP Mutual Support Thread 4280 -
Afternoon!
Well I finally remembered to claim for the deposit back for the houseonly taken me 3 weeks
I am so forgetful! I did it online, did it wrong and had to call up and spent 10 minutes apologising for my stupidity
and they talked me through it! I've lost the email she gave me (of course!)with her forwarding address, I emailed her again for it but am not expecting a reply to be honest! So not sure how long it will take to get my money back!
I've also filled out all the correct paperwork for the letting agent to take over for me (signing all my money away....).
DH has spent all his money so I doubt I'll see the £300 he "borrowed " from the emergency fund again  never mind, I have to say he spent most of it on mehe bought me a refurbed Nikon camera :T and I was extra happy with him for getting it refurbed instead of new :T he's learnt something, hurray!:rotfl:
I've ordered the Bird table and some roosting pockets from an online shop for DD's main pressie and I bought DS1 a second hand ps3 as i'd already told him he weren't having newhe didn't seem to mind and he even trawled the net looking for a good offer :T. I'm awaiting the last few parcels now and then i'll be done
.
I had the kids around this morning before school and they were impressed with the new layout of the living space and then demanded to know why the tree wasn't up when there was clearly room for it nowMy kids were asked yesterday though when they'd like them up and they all agreed when the other kids are finished for xmas hols so it's just us, so Thursday/Friday it is
. (still needing to find the tree and decs though )
Oh and guess what has broken now! The hoover :eek::eek: I hoover every day so am missing it atm! DH is going to pull it apart later and try and see what the problem is. I don't really want that expense at the moment
School nativity this evening and the school are only selling one ticket to each familyi'm letting DH go and I will stay at home with DS2 (he had his the other day) I have got tickets for tomorrow afternoon though so not a total loss. Can't believe they are charging though too! School xmas dinner this week too (alongside a non uniform day costing a £1), then a trip to panto (actually free ) and also a xmas jumper day (costing another £1 per child!). The school are most definitely cashing in on all the festivities eh!!!!
Right best go get re-dressed to collect the kids :rotfl: wrapping pressies and watching tv is far more comfy in your p.js than your jeans :rotfl:

I brought my xmas deccies down last weekend as I remembered some of them where on their last legs last xmas. All acceptable deccies and xmas trees are now up and twinkling brightly.
Usually I'm the mad woman going around shouting to turn off lights, switch off unused charges and tv,s playing to themselves, to save money on our electric bills but come xmas decs I have as many lit up as possible.
I love a good clean of a house and the glass of wine at the end of the day to recover. :)x
I know i'm the same with the electric and when it comes to xmas my house looks like blackpool illuminations :rotfl:double standards are fine at xmas i'm sure of it
DH reminded me that my xmas tree was on it's last legs last year  so we'll have to see what condition it comes out in! Not bad for a £25 spend over 7 years ago thoughPinotGrigio41 wrote: »Know that feeling well, I am constantly turning up for things on the wrong day or forgetting to go altogether. Glad you are feeling festive, we managed to get a few decs up yesterday, its all looking quite twinkly and christmassy now xxI once accused him of seeing a film with another girl (this is waaaaaay back before ds1 was even here....shocking that my memory has always been this bad) as I couldn't remember it, and my friend whispered in my ear that i'd gone with her and her BF and me and my BF (now DH) and we'd all seen it together at the cinema and that's why he could remember it
they all had a good laugh at my expense! :rotfl:

Glad you feel better now you have had a good clean. Also well done for claiming back your money - hopefully you will get it sooner rather than later
Our school has asked for money pretty much every week since being back from holidays and parents are now starting to get a little annoyed - yes it is all good for the children but not everyone has spare cash each week plus like me it is 2 children each time to pay for! - sorry for rant - feel free to rant back on my diary
Me, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190 -
yep same here 2 kids each time this week it will be £9 and as you say not everyone has got spare cash, I budget (rightly or wrongly) down to the last £1 each month so I can put away as much as possible to move! Grr. My DD has gone off to her play and I feel awful not being there it's the first one i've ever missed but they will only allow one person in to watch
I bet when DH gets home though there will have been at least one family that took everyone in anyone which annoys me too lol ....i'll stop ranting now and go and have a look on your diary and perhaps rant there instead

I will put DH to work on the child care front just as soon as he is home! So far he's been working since being back and only had the weekend off, this evening he was home for 20 minutes and then back out again and told me he won't be home before 12 as it's the works dinner *rolls eyes* Then Thursday & Friday I think he's out again each evening. I'm off out tomorrow evening so we won't probably see each other very much till the weekend again now. It's rubbish and i'm looking forward to xmas hols purely for a rest! And breathe. Evening! Been a NSd here today.
I stupidly had a card making station (at the kitchen table) set out for the kids earlier to keep them quiet whilst I made dinner. I forgot that the glitter was in the card making box  but one of the kids found it (of course!!!) and managed to decorate my entire kitchen in it :wall:. We ended up eating sparkly spaghetti after I checked the ingredients and it said non-toxic. The child that had found it had tried to open the lid which was stuck and of course i'm sure we've all done it before we've pulled and pulled and then the lid comes flying off and lands in the spaghetti and the glitter goes all over the ceiling, floor, child, 2 children sitting next to that child and all over the table! Safe to say, I hate glitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So spag bol was different anyway
and glitter is in the bin so hopefully that won't be happening again anytime soon!
Saw xmas play today and I nearly fell asleep. We had to sit and watch all the different years so 3 plays in and I was nodding off. It was so hot in there, blinds had been drawn and my DD had been on first so I'd got pics and had nothing to do but twiddle thumbs (I really shouldn't be so rude and should have just enjoyed all 3 plays, but really, they are pretty boring and you can't hear anything the kids are saying!). We got out 2 minutes before the end of school and I worked out we'd been in there an hour and half :eek::eek:!
Tomorrow is my course during the day and I also have a meditation evening, i am considering cancelling again purely because I hate going out when it is freezing and dark and miserable and I just want to go snuggle under a blanket:D.
I need to go shopping tomorrow and pick up parcels I wonder if I will remember to do both! Hope everyone is well and ready (ish) for xmas now :TMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46.
