I feel much happier since speaking to him and knowing he's home soon. I hope he can actually decide on what he wants to do and then find a real job in it so I won't be holding out for the new house anytime soon, not just yet anyway ;)

  • You sound like you have been full of busy!

I sympathise with the iron problem. Mine is on it's last legs too but there always seems to be something better to spend money on! Xx

  • Well I've just put the BM on...I went to get some bread out for making sandwiches for the kids tomorrow and the bread was green:eek::rotfl: just goes to show who normally eats the bread- DH! When he's here it doesn't even get a chance to go cold never mind green :o I fed the non green bits to the birds and sandwiches can wait until morning now :rotfl:

Floors all mopped and dw unloaded and reloaded.

Just spent over an hour sorting out my knitting subscription I've been getting the parcels and putting them straight into the cupboard :o I've over 50 squares to make  its all sorted out for now and I've taken two easy patterns out to do. My plan is to whizz through the easy ones to get lots done and then when I've caught up a little I can slow down and do the harder ones! I'm sure it will keep me busy this week whilst I'm awaiting payday ;)

  • Yuk to the bread !! The one time Mr PG was put in charge of making the girls packed lunches, he sent them to school with mouldy sandwiches. I got a call from the school at lunchtime pointing out what was in my childrens lunchbox ! Never been so embarrassed in my life. Mr PG claimed he hadn't noticed when he made them , how could he not ?!!

I have a shockingly bad memory but this story reminds me of my DS1 when he was only 3. He decided to bring mummy breakfast in bed and he'd made a jam sandwich :blushing: I was half asleep so took a bite, and well i'm sure you can imagine what my face looked like when I reailsed I was eating mouldy bread! I spat it out and poor DS started crying his eyes out because I didn't like it ...so I found a tiny non mouldy bit and ate it *yuk* the things we do for kids! I think I made myself sick after as I couldn't get the awful furry taste from my mouth :(_pale_ yukyukyuk! I let him make me a new one from fresh bread though as I really felt awful for spitting it out :rotfl:poor boy!

  • Morning all!

I'm waiting in on that parcel, I'm hoping I haven't missed it again as they don't seem keen on leaving cards round here :eek:. I've dropped DD off to school (along with the other 4) and had to endure "looks" from across the playground. Deary me, playground politics at it's worst. Little do they know that I know how to play this game better than them having had 10 years extra life experience ;) I went straight to Miss and told her all about it and how my DD had become a target for whatever reason (this particular group of mummys like to take turns on singling out kids and then having their kids avoid them...last weeks reason was cos the child had a dirty jumper on therefore he must be from a bad home...I disagreed and this is probably the reason i've been shunned now :rotfl:) I never had any of this with DS1 because I was a running late kinda mum always going to work or coming home from work. These days obviously my life seems to revolve around kids rather than work and i've now been included into the "pack" of mothers who think they are "yummy" :rotfl:

So anyway Miss was made aware of silly games and i've told her I would like DD kept an eye on for this week (she's very very tearful and refused to go in today :( think she's missing daddy, so the last thing she needs is a bully now!). I did drop off and went home. I can't wait to move (have I said that before :D)

I saw DD's main present in Smyths the other day (for more money than I paid!) and it is huge!!! i've no idea where i'm going to put it and I reckon it will take us all of xmas eve to put together :eek:. It looks much better than my old Sindy house and I can't wait to play with it :rotfl:

Anyway off to catch up with some of you who actually have valid things to say :o:p

    Hi DFw, :hello:

Gawd; playground politics have got much worse since my day - don't envy you having to deal with the Mummies..

Keeping fingers crossed for your call from Lady re carpets (but must say I'd replace 'em. Long-soaked in, dried urine will be right through the underlay as well - yuk. You'll have a better chance of attracting a responsible tenant if everything's fresh and clean/new. Good karma to put the effort in now ;)).

Can you claim Old T's Bond to contribute to making good the damage?

It occurs to me that as you're living in quarters, there will be lots of families with similar xmas gift storage problems. Can you approach someone in authority and see if there is an unused room which could be made available?
Failing that, if DD catches a glimpse of the huge box, maybe you could tell her it's Duke's xmas pressie - a kennel? (! :rotfl:)
