Thank you today and yesterday were lovely compared to how the entire week has gone...it wasn't that hard to beat though was it :rotfl:

Hope you have a fun day today with the kids.

Mouse has been returned to the woods looking rested and perkier. Small boy made him a mouse sized ham sandwich to fortify him before he left.

I have to admit to loving that boy more each day. Mad as a box of frogs but all that we all so disposed and never lost our wonder.
Awww, bless SB, I was thinking about your mouse earlier funny enough when a friend posted a pic to FB of a mouse that had been left as a 'present' by their cat :rotfl: It wasn't you was it :rotfl:

Can understand why you love SB sooo much, Kissjenn. :T

All quiet on the western front so far! They have their parents over for the weekend, i'm sure it has something to do with the fact that they got gobby and threatening with me and felt the need for back up (although i was already on my own?! )

  • Hi DFW,

So sorry to read the trouble youve been having with the neighbours dog. Cant believe the attitude they are taking with it all, I would not want my dog in someone elses garden let alone the other stuff ie digging up and getting bitten! Dont know why some people have pets tbh!

You shouldnt have to but if I were you I would just get the fence put up for your own peace of mind. Sod them, hopefully they wont be there long! xx
If it were my dog I would actually be mortified! I would have already bought grass seed to replace the damaged lawn and would most definitely have put a fence up IMMEDIATELY. They've stunned me into silence that's for sure (that doesn't occur very often I can assure you ;)) with their immaturity and idiocy?!
DFW321 - I found the info below on the The Dog Trust website, you need to contact the RSPCA, your neighbour has to by law control her dog at all times that includes in her own home, I would contact RSPCA and tell them you have concerns about a dog that has been re homed with your neighbours, its not under control and has several times jumped their fence and entered your garden and you have concerns for your children and own dog's safety, the RSPCA will look into it and it will probably be the shake up that she needs, tell them you have tried to talk to her about putting fencing up but she has refused.

Hope you are ok and had no problems today.

Control:By law you must keep your dog

under control at all times and prevent

him from being a nuisance to others.

A court may order the owner to keep

him under proper control or to be put

to sleep if he is found to be threatening

to the public. If a dog is found worrying

livestock he could be shot without

warning by a farmer, and the owner

could face prosecution. Dogs must also

be kept on a lead on any designated

    road.

Thank you VERY much for that :):T I have contacted the RSPCA because that is where the dog came from!!! I can even show you the link that says "there must be a high fence in place" and lots of other things that she seems to have ignored ! I now have this too so will use this if the rspca do nothing (although am hoping that they will be out to visit even if outside their area soon enough? Dog was from N. Yorks and we are in Essex so not sure how that will work?)

  • Well! What's happened since I was last on, ummm....I've not seen the dog from next door in my garden! :T! Now this may be down to the fact that I went outside last night and opened my gate as wide as it would go and wedged it open with a big bin?! What do you think? I thought this would perhaps encourage them to stand outside with the dog rather than what they usually do which is shut the dog out and go in the front room which usually led to me standing at the fence calling as loud as I could for them both to come and collect her [meanwhile she's digging up my garden or annoying Duke]. I didn't want to do this as I felt irresponsible, but actually the dog shouldn't be in my garden so if it were to escape out my gate well unfortunately not my problem any more (I wedged it so far open that they can see it clearly from their back door, whereas before when it blew open you can't see it from their door so in fact is helping them I feel so they know for sure not to let her over now ;))

DH hasn't called or text in nearly a week :( DD said today "Mummy I have forgotten what daddy looks like :("

I took the kids out this afternoon to see Santa, we saw the bus and by the time we got to the front santa had disappeared so I had to tell them that he had magicked away back to the north pole :(! I did take them into the toy shops though as I had NO idea what to get DD. She pointed out everything and so I explained to her that she needed to choose one thing (again!!!) I got home and ordered a few small things they had seen and a doll's house for DD :T so that is her main pressie now sorted :T it was half price and had all the furniture with it :) By the time i've finished I think I will have spent just over £200 on each child  I thought it was going to be less but now I am thinking not as both main presents were nearly half their budgets so that left £100 for smaller things. Thankfully all on gift cards so no cash for any of that :)

Tenant, ah yes, I knew I was forgetting something! I called my lady over in Wales and she told me she met tenant at the house and asked to come in, tenant was shocked and said no. "Ok" said lady, "would you like me to collect keys when you are finished removing belongings and cleaning etc" ...."yes," says tenant, "won't take me very long to clean at all tomorrow will be fine":eek::eek: some people's standards of cleanliness are clearly lower than others  :rotfl:Anyway she's said nothing about the locks and thinks that it was the dodgy lock that she'd reported anyway so all ok there (which it probably was and probably wasn't tampered with but in fact broken!). I will be claiming for every penny of the DPS money so need to work out how to do this as never done it before. I want to claim for new carpets and obviously loss of rent although not sure how to do this so will have to look in to it!

I've spent all my amazon vouchers that I had for xmas stuff  although i've worked out some of it had come out on monthly subscriptions for shampoo/toothpaste etc :o oops so if need be I will have cash to use which should have been spent on the toiletries! I still have around £250 of love to shop vouchers, I want to get DH & DS1 an electric shaver and then I think I will give ds1 what ever is left (if anything after finishing all the pressies for family) as his money towards a ps game or console (he's not getting a big present as I can't afford one of those consoles so he will get money towards it ;))

Made a stew which was for 2 meals so will have another meal for the freezer once DS1 is home and has eaten. Also need to iron still I HATE IRONING! :D and I think that is all from me. Sorry yet again another epic post :p:p

  • Hi DFW, I'm pleased that you have reported her to the RSPCA, it makes me so mad when people have dogs and don't control them .
I love dogs and have 2 of my own and would never be without them, but they are still an animal and you can never ever be 100% sure what they are going to do and a dog the size of the one your neighbour has cannot be allowed to just do as it pleases especially when the background is not really known.

Hope something happens soon, I would also give RSPCA 24 hrs and be onto them again is nothing has been done.

    Take care.x.
  • I bet you cannot wait to see the back of your tenant, what a pain in the ar$£ she has been, we use a letting agent for our property, they take a small fee but its worth it for the peace of mind.

Exactly what I am doing this time :) they are lined up and ready to go once I reclaim my house and put it back together again !

  • Well kids are in bed asleep, wind down time finally (DD got out of bed last night until 10pm!!!!)

I'm watching a t.v programme on the kennedy assassinations, the woman doing the narrating is doing my head in. Plus i'm finding it very simplistic and one sided () I'm waiting up for downton and homeland though ;)

I've seen the dog twice this evening! Once on the lead in the garden with one of the family members that are visiting. He was stood at the end of their garden glaring into my house :rotfl: I stood closer to the window so he could get a good look and then went :D:wave: don't think i've ever seen anyone finish their cigarette so quickly and go back inside. The second time they took the dog out of the garden on a lead again across the road to the field ;) do we think they have got the message???

:rotfl: I always do things like this. Which seem to annoy DH he'd rather hide and be nosey :p it so happens I haven't been spying on my garden, i'm not that keen on PI :rotfl: I was closing my curtains in the bedrooms!

And I just realised Downton has finished! I could cry!

Must end the weekend on a good note though. I just updated my spreadsheet and it's so lovely scrolling down filling out all the bills and completely skipping the DEBT section :T I must remember to focus on the positives :)

I've written down the meal plan for the next 2 weeks in case my laptop decides to not switch on again (been dodgy all weekend) I must get the port thing fixed :o i'm hoping it will hold out till DH is home. That's most definitely a BLUE job not a PINK one :rotfl:. Right well downstairs is hoovered, polished, clean and ready to be trashed tomorrow morning. Think I might make my way up to watch homeland in bed as heating is off and it's Cooooooooooold! Did I say I caved and turned the heating on this last week, it's only on 16-18 degrees so far and goes off when kids go to bed so hopefully not too expensive.

Jeez I could talk for England :o sorry epic post AGAIN.
