Enjoying the Sunshine whilst Saving for the Rainy Day

Afternoon!
I'm waiting in for my new h^max box to be delivered and the old one taken away.
I'm watching Jerry springer whilst on here, and really, there are no words  these people are shocking!!
Anyway, DH came home this morning :T we went out for an early lunch but he's on American time and is pretty tired as he was awake all night. SO, he's up in bed at the moment sleeping although I'll get him up for the school run as DD went into school so upset that she didn't get to see him this morning before school! He's also just told me that after his two weeks leave he's back out to america, then back here for a week, then away elsewhere in England for 2 weeks and basically he's away until summer leave. Straight after summer leave he's in Kenya for 6 weeks
I really really really need to get a house sorted out and NOW! If the mortgage advisor comes back with a figure that we can't work with on just DH's wage then we will look to rent asap after DS1's exams. I do not want to be here on my own whilst dh's away so much. An old friend is moving back soon but it's not reason enough for me to stay here any longer than I need to. My life is waiting to start, or so it feels. DH gets to travel the world whilst I get to sit at home pining for a new home, new life and some friends who don't move every 24 months. Bah!
Anyway moan over, I will let dh catch up on sleep then he has jobs to do seeing as though we are on a time limit here! I need him to call the MA asap though so we know where we stand with renting or buying. Either way my savings will continue
Hope everyone is well, not sure how much I will get on here with DH at home so often for the next couple of weeks, but i'll be on as and when I canMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Afternoon
DH has been on best behaviour since he's been home! I've had 2 lay ins, tea in bed & he's done a few jobs on my list. The attic has been KM'd it's now empty  and it will stay that way too! The only thing that doesn't have a home from the piles in there is a suitcase which i'm hoping will fit on top of the kid's wardrobe and hold all the smaller bags . He's also taken down the blind in the kid's room and put up the rail that came with the house. I've just washed the delightful (erm, not) curtains the army kindly left and have ironed them. They will go back up. As ugly as they are, they are lined and with the brighter mornings and lighter evenings the kids were waking up at all hours because of it. Hoping these will help!
So DH has taken the kids to his brothers house for a little reunion with his brothers & sisters & mum and I opted outI thought I deserved a little down time on my own and he can cope with the constant questions, fighting etc from the kids
I've found a rug to sell (if it's picked up I have already sold this for £20) one set of curtains & a blind. Hopefully it will all sell but if it doesn't I will try and rehome them and give away somehow! They ended up in the loft in the first place because I didn't know what to do with them when I stopped using them :rotfl:
DS1 is at a friends house as they are both in the same geography & English set so both of them have the same exam papers to revise for. His exams start on Tuesday and I'm pretty nervous for him :eek: I hope he will do well, I know exams aren't the be all and end all but most schools & colleges we've spoken to make out that they are to get on their a-level courses
It's raining here so a day in for me trying to put up curtains, watching a series i've just started on netflix *free subscription* and trying to flog my stuff on g^mtree & FB :rotfl: Pizza for dinner as i am cooking for just me. I literally, actually cannot remember the last time it was only ME for dinner :eek: I will enjoy having to only clean up for one personMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Enjoy your "me" time and I hope that OH continues to be in a good mood and helpful. I really admire you services wives/partners. When I was young my "Aunties" OH was in the merchant navy and she loved her time bringing up the boys, but she lived in Liverpool in a strong supportive community with her family close by and didn't have to keep moving etc., totally different from your situation. Good luck for DS1 exams:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Hope this has been you today -
Glad DH has been useful around the house but a shame that he had to run up a credit card bill before he did it!!
Can't believe your loft is empty0 -
Hey you
I am happy that he is on his best behaviour. methinks he knows he is on the ropes of your relationship currently and one slip up might be all it takes for you to knock him out.
Glad you got some time for yourself!! I wish.. :eyeroll:xx

Lilt think you've hit the nail on the head there
he's doing the dog poop pick up and cutting the grass right now so still on best behaviour !
I've booked tickets to see "home" at the cinema later on - ds2 choice after dd got to choose last time. Think I'll take them into town early so they can go run off some energy at the park first and we'll have quiet kids for cinema time! Sun is out so I've hung a wash out, we've taken the dog on a 3 mile walk (kids were overjoyed at that; not) and they're outside colouring my fence in with chalk at the moment
House is in good order, so long as I keep up with the washing and DW I find the other jobs easy to keep on top of (at the moment anyway!) I'm off to do the banking and putting the clothes awAy now so I'll try and pop on laterMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
