You must have a tardis for a house. I didn't realise army accommodation was that big!

Your decluttering has shoved me to really get going, although we have already done some. We had to empty out the loft, into storage, before Christmas ready for the roof to be replaced. We got rid of a fair bit but we are gradually bringing things back from storage (must be emptied by 30/5). We had a box of wedding presents: glass vases, cake slice, cake plate etc that still have the labels on, 25 years on. So, after a young lady posted on freecycle looking for table cloths for her vintage styled wedding next month, I emailed and offered the vases etc, She has accepted with delight.
    Another box gone.

Some might think it wrong but we have never, ever used these things. We're still very happily married and they're not worth much to sell, so I feel good passing them on for good use.

I still have one kitchen cupboard that I am bracing myself for.....
  • Just popped back on before the nursery pick up to tell you its done!! 2 giant bin liners out to the bins. Not much food but a hell of a lot of stuff I was saving for no reason!!

Thanks for the nudge :D xxx
:j:T:j YAY well done hun! It feels good to get on and do it doesn't it :D I also had a load of food that I was saving for no reason, things we'd bought but no one actually liked but I would put it back in the cupboard anyway :rotfl:

Good luck greenone! You sound like you like on my estate with the roofs being repaired! My house is not big but I have ingenious storage solutions [read that as I shoved everything in every nook and cranny and drawer and cupboard possible :D ] and so therefore I have unearthed more *things* than I ever thought possible in my little home . Shocking really and I hope once all done it will never go back to that way again!

I agree with letting things go that bring no joy but were gifts, i struggled with this at first but seeing them go and make someone else happy has made me more happy than seeing them once in a blue moon at the back of the cupboard/drawer (I have some really big cupboards with deep drawers :rotfl:)

    Morning!

Well I have a headache & tummy ache again today so aside from the basic housework which has already been done [DW emptied and refilled, washing machine on, sides cleaned down and all the clothes from yesterday folded and put away] I am snuggled on the sofa with a dvd (The English Patient if you're interested to know ;) ) and my cosy socks & jumper & my laptop! I think that the SJW may be causing the tummyache/ headache so from tomorrow I am going to lower my dose to one tablet again. I had upped it to three after my crazy stupid week and moods but after taking them this morning within an hour I was feeling sick & headache was coming on.

DD has gone into school upset because she misses daddy today :(. She's a real daddy's girl and seriously pines for him when he's not here. Only a few more days I keep telling her, but to a six year old one day is like a week it seems :(.

I've been paid my £20 for looking after the girls (two weeks money) so that's gone in my purse, i have promised DD an ice cream from the ice cream van later though if he comes before bed (last night it was around 7.30 :eek:) Nothing like an ice cream to cheer up kids hey :)

I got my food shop yesterday for the week it was £67 :T not sure if it will last but I got a headache half way round so sort of abandoned the list down the last aisle (at least I know what is causing the headaches though so can rectify it :) ) If I do run out it will just be of fresh stuff anyway so I can just pop to the local coop.

So KM, my favourite subject at the moment :rotfl: *look away now if bored of the subject :D* ....well as I said i've finished the house aside from photos and sentimental which I will tackle once I have the loft emptied...and the house is looking so much better. Its so easy to clean because I have less stuff to put away and less stuff to actually clean :T. I have gone back over a few categories since finishing and found a few more items that I don't want. I'm not sure how I missed those to begin with actually :o:o. Anyway my MIL gave me around a dozen dvds after clearing her house out, I am making my way through them deciding if I want to keep them or toss them to see if I can get my collection down to only dvds that I love :) that would be great! The kids have one container full of around 30 and DH and I probably have over 100 . I'm also tempted to get that damned garage door open (the one which only occasionally opens for me and then rarely locks again...dh seems to have the knack for it not me!)

Hope everyone is well I will try to catch up with a few of you now :)

  • Just done my banking, I had no extra money to put towards savings after buying things on am@zon (which I don't regret :D ) and what with two extra DDs I hadn't budgeted for this month (cheers DH for that one :mad:) so basically everything that has been added to savings will now be it until payday I think. Interest has been added to two accounts which has pushed the total over the £14k mark :T so just £990 to find to make my £15k target (no pressure then :rotfl:) !

  • Good morning, thank you lovely friends for popping by :lovethoug. Well yesterday I had an extra guest to dinner, ds1 had invited his friend round (a girly friend as ds2 calls her :rotfl: with a look of disgust on his face as he says it :p ) The house was in good order so I wasn't embarrassed :T. However I wasn't best pleased with my guest as she declared loudly " I don't eat vegetables" cue ds2 "I hate them too and I won't eat them either" :wall: urgh! So I had two of them only eating pasta last night and totally missing out on my delicious red wine bolognase (more for me I guess, I have a portion for my jacket tonight  ) well anyway ds2 starts warming to our guest and asks her if she'd like to marry him when he's 16 :rotfl: she blushed and giggled and said maybe, and that was it ds2 was in love again (He soooooooo loves older women!) ....fast forward to 10pm when she is collected by her mum, well her shoes have gone missing. Instantly I think "DS2 has done this" but he was fast asleep  so I had to invite her mum in all the while explaining the oddities of my ds2 :rotfl: thankfully the house again was clean and tidy so no problems :T I invite DS1's GF and her mother to start looking in cupboards, all the while I am silently praying to MK thanking her that my house is in order :rotfl: 20 minutes later and after I had tried to (and failed) wake ds2 up we found them in the cubby bit we have for trays :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OMG what a little s0d!!! The mother of the girl looked EXACTLY like sarah milligan (or is it millican??) and talked like her too (same accent) and she was quite funny so this was all very surreal by this point and of course way past my bedtime! SO I tried to shush them and usher them out as quietly and quickly as possible, but oh dear what a situation!!!

Anyway today I have checked my bank, there is little under £500 extra in DHs pay, I think as he got all the extra for himself last month I thought it only fair that the savings pot should get it all this month :D I have set up a transfer for tomorrow, so as soon as it hits the bank it will be moved straight to savings so I am not tempted to touch it. I bet DH will come home though with no money, a run up CC bill (I already know he's used it) and needing money to pay for Mess bills etc  I really wish I could get him board and to see things the way I do but it's seemingly impossible *sigh*! Anyway that means I am half way there to the savings to reach £15,000 :T I should make it by June for sure with next months pay although I will try adding to it this month too if I can :)

Today will be spent doing a few jobs, i've already emptied the DW and put on the bread, I need to hoover & put a wash on but it's VERY grey outside so it'll have to hang indoors.
