Hope you son has a great night xx

Thank you Abba he came home in a good mood so I was happy :)
He didn't win an award as he's the new guy that hardly turns up for practise and just turns up for the games (naughty) but he got a special recommendation (not sure what that means) so it was an award without a trophy to go with it (???)
    :T
    Morning DFW,

Poor you sounds like you've had an awful few days, hopefully you're feeling brighter now. Did DS1 enjoy the night out?

I did have to laugh at DS2 climbing over the fence to the ice cream van :rotfl:. Only because my DD2 did it last year and was actually sat on the kerb in her dressing gown tucking into an icecream when I caught her. It was only because she was poorly that I said no and she obviously thought she knew better... less than an hour later so was throwing it back up ... kids who'd have them ha!! xx
MY ds1 used to be nicknamed spiderman not only because he loved it and that's what he told everyone his name was (seriously :rotfl: even his teachers he would say don't call me by my real name call me spiderman please:rotfl:) but also because he would climb on everything and anything to get to what he wanted :wall: I had to have 3 pairs of hands and 3 pairs of eyes watching him at all times. In fact he used to be able to throw himself out of his cot at 6 months old can you believe it!!! He couldn't walk but he could stand and do a sort-of-gate-jump over the bars !! So roll on 11 years and we have a ds2 who is actually worse than ds2!!! he climbs on everything and I caught him climbing up a book case (which was super wobbly without a 2 yr old on it) so he could get something off the top of it! So no surprise really that he'd climbed over the 6ft fence at the back of the garden (The only bit where there is a good sized fence!) :rotfl:....your DD would get on well with my cheeky DS2 then by the sounds of it
Sorry to hear things have been rough for you, hope the chocolate helped! I also hope DS1 had a great night and is feeling better too.

When we were staying in Wensleydale we went swimming in Catterick. As soon as we got near I just knew it was an army estate from the look of the houses and the 'feel' of the place. I think you wives are all just as brave as your men and it's no wonder it all gets too much sometimes. (Reading that back, I hope that doesn't sound patronising!).

I can sympathise with the ice cream incident! When we were at Lightwater Valley, DS2 helped himself to some pick and mix - with his fingers so there was no way it could be put back!! It was £4 for a tiny tub of pick and mix and I could have cried at the thought of having to fork out that. Luckily the guy in the shop just laughed and said he could have the bits he'd selected for free. DS2 still got very wrong though and I don't think he actually enjoyed eating his heist!!

Ah we were at one point hoping to transfer to Catterick, purely because it is nearer to where I want to live but I agree you can just feel the vibe as soon as you get near a garrison estate. I hate it here, having grown up in the country (like literally in the middle of nowhere countryside with only a post office , pub & church there and nearest neighbour being half a mile at least) I can't seem to cope with living in a real life fishbowl. I guess I am not as adaptable as I first thought myself to be :o:o

:rotfl::rotfl: at your ds! Seems we all have cheeky children!!

  • Oh :( I am so sorry I haven't been around as an ear to bend!!

What an awful few days between MIL and then DH and his rubbish flight and super selfish nature. It is just men believe me, all the same. But I honestly do not know how you do it in terms of being an army wife. I threatened my best friend when I was 16 and he was 18 that if he went into the navy I would never ever speak to him again. He didn't. It was an escape route out of being homeless for him basically, and instead my mum got him a job which he excelled in, moved on from and now works for a world renowned company all over the country and earns about 3x the navy salary he could have got ;) every cloud.

Aways my point was, you are 20x the woman I could ever be for dealing with the kids on your own for so much, for moving around following him, for making friends only to have them sent to bl00dy Cyprus or Germany or wherever else anyone feels like making them all go, and leaving you alone.

My sister lives on RAF Cranwell and over the years has had friends come and go and come and go. She used to have a really busy social life and I envied it at first, but it was just a never-ending succession of different faces. Now, the one family she really got on well with who moved away a while back, came back again and her hubby has a permanent position based there so they are fast friends now :) but it is a very lonely estate really. shedloads of women and kids and men in uniform with big guns at either end of her village

I hope DS1 has a good evening; I am sure it was just girl related... but stress over exams etc is probably heightening it for him. I am sure he will snap out of it soon. In a couple of months it will all be over and he will be fine :)

You keep your chin up Mrs. And do what is best for you and the kids. S0d his lordship and the MIL from hell. You're the only one there all the time, how the hell would they know enough to have an opinion hmm? Whatever they say just isn't relevant. Like my dad complaining about rubbish goalkeepers. I always ask him if he thinks he could do better in the circumstances with split second timing ;) the answer is usually a load of fluff. :rotfl:

    Much love xxxx
Thanks lilt :blushing: I'm glad your sister's friend has moved back permanently. I thought one of my friends were moving back from Larkhill this summer whom i'd been friends with since moving here but they've asked for an extension there. Seems no one wants to live here really! I think I will find it strange to move back to reality though and not see men in uniform walking around all day long. Its's what i've been used to for so long now  it was like when the whole regiment were deployed to Afghan and only the spouses were left. The whole place seemed like a ghost town! Wasn't nice and it kind of feels like that now with so many away here there and everywhere. Oh I forgot to add in the last post I ended up collecting ds1! I went in and spoke to the coach who was running it and he said they'd be done by 9.30 and as we were having a movie night I said i'd collect him so long as it didn't run too late over. I got a text at 9:15 to say he'd be 15 mins late but our film was only just finishing so I went to get him :T I put the tenner into my petrol tank instead of the cabbie's hands.
I told DH about what his mother had been saying and the cousin from hell stories and he's not happy with her! She always seems to come when i'm at my most stressy (usually at the end of a few bad months with dh constantly at work or away etc) and then she always bring lil miss spoilt brat with her too which never helps things. I can cope with MIL on her own so I think something needs to be said next time about her not bringing DN!

  • Morning all,

Well hormones have sort of returned to normal this morning. Yesterday was an ok day but I randomly had depressive episodes for absolutely no reason. I'm convinced it is everything to do with hormones causing this and wonder if I go get all my girl bits removed if it will stop (if only that were an option huh). I'm hoping the SJW and AC combined might help stop it next month it really is like helll when I'm going through it.

So yesterday was a day spent running around after kids. I had to drop dd off to a party, drop ds1 off to his friend's house, pick dd up, took ds2 to Mcds as a treat as he was feeling a bit left out (he only wanted to go because all his friends have "Home" toys from there and he had none!) so was a day spent mostly outdoors...when I got back at 3.50pm the dog was looking forlorn so we took him to the woods, got lost and ended up getting home at 5.30 :eek::eek: the dog needed a bath and blowdry so by the time it was dinner time (well dinnertime had passed by then!) I made the kids beans on toast and I ate a whole toblerone for dinner :o:o. I was so tired I really couldn't be bothered doing what i'd planned!

Today it's raining so I am not sure how I will get the washing dried yet, it takes ages indoors to dry. I have to put clothes away and iron uniforms and just a general tidy up so if I have time I will try and get some of the komono done in the kitchen as that's basically all that is left to be done now :T. (well aside from photos and sentimental) I haven't thrown much out over the last few days so I think I might be coming to the end of finding rubbish in the house :o and it should mainly be just organising things in the kitchen now (I don't buy too much excess kitchen equipment as cooking is defintely not my favourite thing to be doing :rotfl:) I'm sure I will find the odd bit but I can't see it being too much. I am looking forward to getting to the end of the process and moving on in the summer :) (IT WILL HAPPEN...........)

It's hard being female!! Hope next month is better.

I don't know how I am going to cope with DD much longer, she is a grumpy child when she is tired anyway and now she has started her cycle she is a nightmare for the week before and the week during!! This is exactly how I was before I started taking AC. I have told DH that if she is still like this after a year I will be speaking to the doctor about her taking AC:rotfl:

I made the kids beans on toast and I ate a whole toblerone for dinner :o:o. I was so tired I really couldn't be bothered doing what i'd planned!

That is my idea of a great dinner:rotfl:
Today it's raining so I am not sure how I will get the washing dried yet, it takes ages indoors to dry.

I am having the same problem today as DD forgot to put the washing out for me yesterday and today is cloudy and damp. I put the heating on for a bit to help but all that has happened is that DH and I are boiling and sitting around in summer clothes and popping outside every so often to cool down more:rotfl:

Great going with all the MK - I need to continue with what I was doing, the problem is that I don't have loads of hours in one go so have to do bits and pieces and there is too much other stuff that needs doing as well.
I need to finish my clothes as they are annoying me and I am not putting everything away as I don't have home for them - I think I need to get rid of even more.

EE I didn't have many clothes to begin with so I found the clothes easy to do, and nearly everything I had had holes or bleach stains on :o well all my favourite items anyway and I realised I was pretty embarrassed to wear them but I just hadn't got round to sorting myself out to replace them. Most were bought whilst I was still in debt (so cheap charity shop finds and SM brands :o) I had a good clear out and I really enjoyed shopping for new clothes. I get nice comments now all the time, I don't look anything special BUT it's made me realise what a tramp I was looking before :o I really had stopped caring! I love looking in my wardrobe now :T

I've just completed the kitchen utensils, crockery & mugs/glasses and have discarded (to the charity shop/ school fete pile) quite a lot more than I thought :o:eek: My cupboard where the glasses & mugs were kept is really deep but awkward it goes sort of into the corner of the kitchen but the door is tiny so it's hard to get to the back of the cupboard (if this makes sense) so I got up on a chair (I'm also too short to actually see in the cupboards I get everything from the top shelf by feel only :rotfl:) and basically got rid of everything that had been pushed to the back of the cupboard- 6 mugs, 5 glasses/plastic beakers (most chipped/cracked ) and I also got rid of the baby plates, mugs etc so I have made lots of room that I thought I wouldn't do :T. Then I moved onto the food .....I have been dreading this as I should think do most MSE'ers :rotfl: let's face it MK would be throwing everything out that's past it's sell by date when we buy from AF after it's already 6 months out of date :rotfl: So I smelt lots, and gave some a shake and if it still looked good it went back in the cupboard :rotfl: I did find 3 half used ketchups :o 2 half used salad creams, vinegars & salts :o:o I decanted these into just one container and threw the excess away. All cupboards had a wipe whilst I sorted through too. I threw away lots of baking things that were about 3 years out of date, they'd gone all sticky (ewww) and the sugars had turned to solid lumps. But all in all I have only thrown out (recycled mostly) 2 full bags of food/broken things/ containers. I have lots to go to the charity shop or school for their fete now including some jigsaws we found in another cupboard....we seem to have kept jigsaws in 3 different places, so according to MK law we moved them all to one place and we know where everything is now.

I still have under the kitchen sink to do. I am sure most of you can relate to that one.........i'm dreading it. There is all sorts under there  including spiders & everything from paint to shoe polish, bleach, vases, garden stuff & bird food  I'll see how I feel about that job tomorrow! I am keen to do it though as that means the entire house will have been KM'd aside from the loft & garage then (another 2 BIG jobs :(!)

Tuna, pasta, sweetcorn for dinner, am too tired to move but I think I can rustle that up before giving in! I am also debating getting the pretty cake plates (royal doulton etc)out that my mum gave me. They are in a box for safe keeping (:o) I think I should get them out and use them as they were meant for :)

I got rid of loads of mugs about 8 months ago (before MK came into my life) as the cupboard was overflowing - I think I kept 9 or 10.

Have checked today and we are back up to 13 and the cupboard is overflowing again - the problem is that the kids keep mugs in their rooms for ages so it looks like we don't have many but then every so often I make them bring them all down again and once they have all been washed they don't fit in the cupboard!!

I have told DH he can take some to work as they have small cups and not mugs.

I did the undersink cupboard the other weekend - not because of MK but because I was fed up of things having to be balanced on one another.
I have removed the shelf that was in there because things went underneath it and other things got put in front of them and I could never get to things without removing half the contents!
So the shelf went and I got rid of loads of carp and now nearly everything fits - we seem to have lots of alcohol so we are drinking our way through it at the moment!!
Once the alcohol has gone everything will have a home and be easy to reach!

Hope you manage the sink cupboard tomorrow and then you can say you have done the house!!

    • loose receipts
done -ongoing job obviously though, and boring :p
    • phone accessories done haven't many of these they are kept with spare cords in a box.
    • spare cords done all the ones i've kept are rolled up and tied together with multi purpose clips and put into sandwich bags with what they are written on them I.E: printer cables, phone chargers etc.
    • craft supplies done
    • wool done
    • threads done
    • storage containers I have these piled up by my front door. Am unsure what to do with them yet as MK says to wait until the end of the process so you know whether you need them or not and as i have the garage & shed to do I've kept them so far. They're annoying me though as they're right in the way !!
    • house plants got rid of all the dead ones and have put a few on probation too ;)
    • baking pans done, all organised
    • baking accessories done! lots to charity :T
    • mugs
    • vases I only have 2 so both are together (can you believe they were in separate cupboards hidden at the back of things :o!)
    • water bottles done threw one out that always leaks.
    • plates & bowls done, we don't have enough as it is :rotfl: so couldn't do much with this one for now, it's all in the same place though and clean so all good
    • knives again we haven't got many, i throw these out as they get ruined.
    • small appliances Found a broken mini cupcake maker and a disgusting sandwich toaster in the back of the cupboard! DS1 hadn't cleaned the toaster after using it  and it was gross. Both gone to bin. All other small appliances that aren't on the work surfaces are together in the bottom of one cupboard :T
So i've done under the sink this morning, not quite as bad as I first thought as thankfully the cupboard is not huge! I've found most things under there were already grouped together in boxes. My storage system from before KM'ing is showing me that I wasn't disorganised as such it's just that 1) I had too much stuff, 2) I had things in several different places because I might need scissors for the kitchen (so I had a pair in there) I might need them for sewing (had 2/3 in there) I might need them for cutting paper so I had several other pairs all over the house :o so even though I thought it was a bit backward putting everything together even if it meant i'd have to go get the thing out if it was in another room it's not been a problem so far. I guess if I lived in a mansion it could've been but it takes me 20seconds to walk from one corner of my house to the furthest corner :rotfl:so that was never going to be a problem!! So I have done the entire house now :T just the loft & garage to do next...........:eek::eek:. I also have the sentimental stuff but i've decided to leave that for now as I know there is lots of stuff in the loft so I may as well wait to have everything grouped together to crack on with that.

I think next on my list is to have an actual spring clean now :rotfl: now that everything is tidy i'm hoping it won't take too long to do but you never know......

I've ordered some bits from am@zon for the house, as I went around I made a list of things that were broken/past their best / we needed and didn't have. I haven't ordered everything on the list but I allowed myself £60 so I have ordered a new pyrex jug (plastic ones all cracked ) which was an add on item so only £2.99 :T, some kids toothpaste (I usually get it from the health shop but I rarely go to town!) some new cushion pads for the living room cushions (feather ones so they stay plump :)), and a new bread bin as mine is a cheap tin one and the door has broken. I see why I went cheap though as I was having palpitations at the price of a nice one on t'internet :rotfl:. The one i've ordered has a chopping board for a lid and looked nice so I just hope it's a good one for nearly £30 . It's nice to have a treat every now and then hey :rotfl:. I will get more bits from the list on pay day or sometime next month anyway :)

Right suppose I ought to go shopping then whilst I have the energy and take the dog out :D I hope everyone is ok! Might have a quick nosey on here before I go whilst I drink my tea though..... :)

You are so crazily active it puts me to shame. I have done all the out of the house stuff... resolved to kondo the kitchen and the bathroom cupboard this afternoon and just... haven't. I've ground to a halt. part headache from no breakfast this morning till just now and part laziness from miles of walking and appointment juggling!

Am so impressed with your list. Absolutely amazing.

In fact so amazing that having just read it again I have decided where to start on the kitchen and I am off!! xxxx

Thanks for the motvation as I was going to go to sleep!! xxx
