Sheesh, I wish the fact that I haven't been on for so long was to do with ds1 stealing the laptop.....he'd in fact deleted major things from the laptop which caused it to break :wall: I've only just figured out how to get things off and backed up when it was running sooooooooooooooooooooooooo slowly that it would take 30 minutes to turn on  It finally copied everything off overnight and I've done a factory reset. DS1 is now banned from downloading anything! Or deleting anything! In fact he's allowed to do his homework and THAT IS IT .....URGH!
My budget has gone up the creek, I need to sit down and re do it but I don't ever seem to have 5 minutes to myself. I've spent 35 minutes on the phone this morning trying to cancel my 3 contract because of the awful signal in my house and was passed to several departments in the process and had to explain to each and every one why I wanted to leave! Did they want to guilt trip me in to staying I wonder? Either way I declined new phones, special deals, free calls etc etc that they tried to bribe me with and I am getting the phone unlocked, a pak code and I will be moving to PAYG before the end of the year :T Hopefully a saving there as I never ever use my phone because of the bad signal! and I pay £28 a month for the priviledge of that :wall:!
Happy Halloween everyone btw!
I've been discharged from hospital now and am not bothering with the physio. It's too far to travel for a 5 minute session. I can nearly bend my finger all the way down. There is an awful lot of pain stillbut I still have the finger and it still moves so for that I'm thankful
Trick or treating with the smaller two kids tonight, eldest son has gone to Thorpe Park as he was offered free tickets for their fright night thing :T. We're in the process of filling out college/sixth form applications too so it will all seem pretty real very soon (the move that is!). We're still awaiting Dh's bonus and then I will see what he does about leaving his job. I'm not bothered either way now, I trust that everything will turn out the way it is supposed to.
I hope everyone is well....I can't surf diaries atm as my laptop is updating all the correct thingymajigs it needs *confused?*
I will be back though now I have it working :j just thought I would pop in and say HI! xxxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

Hello DFW, I am so glad you're getting better. Not sure if you remember me posting about my sister who got septicaemia about 3 years ago (you would be forgiven for not remembering), but she very nearly died, it was a worrying time. Well it took 18 months for her to fully recover, but fully recover she did.
Its ok to slowdown, and give yourself time to get better
Banwa
I do remember your sister being very ill....i'd forgotten what it was that had caused it though  I've heard so many horror stories since I've been ill that I am very grateful to that nagging feeling (intuition?!) I had about getting it checked out. It got pretty bad within a few small hours I dread to think what might have happened had I ignored it like I usually do for things like that! Am feeling very productive this afternoon, I've caught up with my expenses now and emailed them off, text my HS family and organised next week's visit. I've been given another family with twins that I also need to organise seeing very soon but haven't got her number yet to do this. I've tried to reconcile YNAB as much as I could considering the laptop (and thus my online banking) was dead for so long. I will wait until everything pending goes out and all the bills on Monday and reconcile the difference. I need to find a new sim for my phone as my one will be cut off next month, I've ordered one (with cashback) but am unsure if it's suitable yet. Will have a look when it arrives
Washing has nearly been caught up with. We've had some lovely mild days here and I've been pegging out still :T I've also realised it is NOVEMBER 1st and I still HAVEN'T put the heating on :T:T:T:T:j:j Hoping for some cheap bills and some build up of credit hereI will put the heating on once it gets colder but I am reckoning we can do without for another week maybe? At least?
Dh was called in to work this morning. I'm pretty annoyed with this we'd arranged to go out and had to cancel it. The person who's shift he's now covering is at home with his "poorly wife". Hmph, I'm rather annoyed at the fact DH was not brought home early, had no time off, no special treatments when I was ill but everyone else seems to . He also might be away next weekend when I tried to book in for a family photo shoot. I've had it booked for months nowand may be going on my own with the kids. I hate his job more than he does
Anyway have had a good week overall this week and hopefully next week will be better. DH's bonus didn't go in so xmas shopping will be delayed until next month, OR bought on CC and paid back with next month's wages (which the bonus will be in). Would rather not do this but also hate last minute shopping and toys being out of stock!
Right had best go as need to find some dinner. I had promised a take away but DH's not here so might have a rummage in the cupboards instead, on the other hand I might just get one anyway :cool:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. DH's home from work, I fed the kids earlier so we're having a take away, works out cheaper if it's only 2 of us eating
...
I've just claimed £157.50 cashback from the p1usnet deal I signed up to :T meaning my phone line is super cheap for the year :j...money will go straight back into the emergency fund from whence it came :T. I've been naughty and spent £30 on dvds for the kids & myself. They were all under £4 to be fair and they're all classics that I love (or loved as a kid myself) and I think I got 8 or 9 films for that price :j can't wait till they turn up now we can have a movie fest
Talking of movies, I took the kids to see Fr0zen sing-a-long and it was fab but DD has now rekindled her love for it and wants every single toy from the fr0zen section in the @rgos catalogue :wall: they timed that perfectly didn't they! I bet every single child in there has done the same thing
Hope you are all ok, I feel so rushed off my feet lately I haven't had much time to stop and see how you all are! I will try better, promise ...just as soon as the kids go back to school :rotfl:

We went to the local Christmas fair today, managed to spend £50 and we have nothing to show for it really! We also got rained on and DH ended up soaked through to the skin because he didn't want to stand under my pink umbrella :rotfl: he already has a chest infection.....but ya know it's not manly to use an umbrella or anything to keep you warm and dry
I've done my banking for the day, it's so nice to have it up and running again. I've made some small payments over to the ISA and emergency funds (anything below a pound gets tidied into emergency and anything over the pound gets tidied into the ISA). I am £150 away from £11k now. I am debating whether to use the £150+ cashback to top it up to that figure as I've been trying and failing to reach that target for so long now
I will open a new ISA once I reach the £11k and I want to save money for removals, house cleaning (this one) and a month's rent and deposit/ solicitors fees (dependant on whether we will be buying or renting I'd like it put in a separate account so I know I can use this money next year). The other ISA's that I already have won't be touched if I can help it and will be there for buying a house! I have done a very rough estimation in my mind that I will need £3k or thereabouts for moving costs. I hope it's not too much more if I have under estimated .....So I expect that account will be started up after xmas now and I really hope I can save £3k in 7 months!
Hope everyone is well, must dash as washing needs hanging up (inside today!) ...heating is still not on :T heated airer is though and it's nicely heated the front room for usMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. For those of you who remember the neighbour from hell stories....my friend has just sent me a link which has further upset me (but also made me glad?!) about the dog being re-homed (again) I feel so sorry for it, it must have had 4 or 5 homes in it's short few years! However am glad it didn't go with them as they weren't very nice to her at all....thought I should pass on the news (not entirely sure if it's good or bad news..) as you were all so supportive of me whilst it was happening!
P.s we've got new neighbours and fence has stayed up and we've yet to bump in to them (YAY) best type of neighbours....ones you never see!!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46.
