I was thinking about the dog the other night when one was being rehomed on the Paul O'Grady/Battersea Dogs show. I actually wondered if it was the same dog, because of course that's likely in the whole of the UK :rotfl:!

Haha I wonder if it was the same one...although it wasn't with Battersea but Essex instead so probably not! I just knew it had been rehomed when it suddenly disappeared.....I should be happy but i'm more angry at the idiots who should never have had her in the first place!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Good afternoon all!
Well the bad weather has finally hit here! It's freezing  I have relented with the heating this afternoon too as ds2 asked if we could have it on yet :rotfl: i felt mean so put it on. Mind it is only on 16 as I don't want them getting used to 30 degrees or anything
I've done the shopping. I couldn't hack two supermarkets today as the kids were with me and they'd already driven me mad at the vets running around and causing mayhemso I went to sainsbug as I knew I could get everything in there (couldn't get half a dozen things I needed in a1di so pretty annoyed ) spent way too much because it's so expensive in there. *sigh* kids back to school soon and I know they hate shopping so trying to just take it on the chin really. So disappointing blowing the budget within the first few days!
Dog was ok, he had a check up as I thought he had an infection. Turns out it's just dirt (only in one ear though?!) and was sent away with stuff to loosen the wax and a £40 bill for the privilege of 5 mins of her time. *sigh*
Lots of *sighing* today!
I have a roast chicken in the oven and have given up with housework. It's just not at all feasible with 2 small children who apparently like the house looking like a toy shop :wall:.
DH has been moaning at me again. Apparently I should give up my volunteering job and go get one that pays me OR stay at home and clean more/make more dinners from scratch. I was too gobsmacked to say much and still am really. Sad for him he was born 50 years too late for a wife like that :rotfl:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Haha, understand that feeling... DH pointed at a bit of muck that plumber left on bathroom floor saying "that needs cleaning up". I was sarky about getting right to it. He did set to and cleaned it but who did he think he was ordering about????What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Hi DFW
You are not on your own with hubby frustrations. I have had issues with mine recently.
If I stay in the house and try to get it REALLY clean and tidy, which is a mean feet in our home and no one puts anything away, he then complains that I ought to get outside at some point to sort the veg plot and garden out.
So over the weekend and yesterday I go outside to get the veg plot done and he complains that's the house looks a mess .
I am really convinced he has no clue the amount of things I do every day, because the washing magic's itself back into his cupboards, dinner makes itself, clutter gets tidied away etc etc etc.
Pfffft Just know you are not on your own xxx0 -
Hiya DFW (& co!)
Just catching up on your diary. You have been busy and those totals once again put me to shame.
Ref DH and his good little housewife, he really doesn't know he is born. There is a sign I think all women should have which says 'No one knows exactly what it is that I do, until I stop doing it'. That is the truth right there. Toilet rolls run out, and I am the only one who knows where they are stored. After 5 years... Cillit bang bottles may as well be ornaments for all the use they get on the days I am on strike from housework because I am the one at work full time and Him sits around with his 3 games consoles doing zip. Bleach down the toilet? There should be a round of applause attached just for the times he actually flushes it...
All women, everywhere, feel your pain. I am glad mine is only 3 days a week or I would strangle him. Then again, that amongst other things is what got him kicked out anyway..
Glad you seem to be back to rights. Keep testing your finger.
And just thinking that DH may be one of those types who said to the people at work when he found out about you "Oh it's ok, I don't need to go home" thinking that he might get landed with the kids and housework for umpteen days and would rather be safely away?sorry if that is a bit mean. I probably should not be so cynical at the age of 28. I blame the mums of boys who seem to think they are helpless compared to girls, and do everything for them.
Hugs to you! x

Thank you for all your input, it really is appreciated because DH makes me feel like i'm the only woman in the world that thinks like me  So after logging on here and reading all your stories I feel much better :lovethoug Since he said that to me he has apologised and said that perhaps he could have said what he meant in a better way  I think what he meant is he shouldn't have said anything of the sort. At all!
So money news today, my TCB was paid :j:j £157.50 :T I have put £150 straight to the ISA and I've finally reached my £11,000 saving target :j:j:j:j. So my next target will be the £3,000 that I need for moving costs! I will open a new ISA for that one I think as DH's has gone past the £5k mark now so I can't get much more in there anyway. So job for this week is to find a good ISA and open it up ready.
I took the dog for a groom yesterday as his coat was matted (not badly we do brush him but his hair is just so long it was knotting all the time) and his ears needed plucking. I went to pick him up and he looked fab, nothing like our usual dog :rotfl: and I nearly keeled over when they told me the price!!! Why, oh why, did I not even think to check the price BEFORE hand!!! £37  they nearly had to pick me up off the floor! Everywhere else we've been has been around £25-28. However they did a much better job than the others so i'm now in a dilemma as to whether to keep taking him there! I also bought him a new collar, enough food for the month and a new lead. After the vet fees the other day, we have spent just over £100 on him :eek::eek: How can such a small dog cost so much in maintenance
So today I went to my homestart family. She had an appointment in the hospital and I went with her. I got the awful job of holding down the poor little girl (she's 2 in a couple of weeks) whilst they tried and failed several times to fit a canula in to her hand. I nearly cried as much as herIt made me very thankful to have healthy children. Poor mum of the family has to do this several times a year with her as they are still trying to work out exactly what is wrong. Awful, just awful!
Anyway, how's the weather where you all are? We're enjoying tropical weather (like they must have in the rainforest.....with lots of rain....)I like to think it tropical anyway as it's depressing thinking we might have this monsoon of rain for months on end! My back garden patio has flooded! I have put the heating on only once since I last posted and that's today! Again it's on super low just to take the chill off and help dry the clothes. The heated airer has been a godsend in helping to keep the front room warm :T.
Right anyway, school run time soon so I had best go suit up for it with wellies, coats, jumpers & hats etc :rotfl: xxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34
