  • Good heavens DFW,

I turn my back for a few days and you nearly finish yourself off .
You poor thing, I have had Septicaemia before and its not pleasant at all. Very painful.

Big dodgy hugs to you :grouphug:, and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Use this time for a rest, gets lots of sleep, you need it, and stop coming to everyone's rescue. I am the same, my mouth moves before my brain works and I end up running all sorts of errands for people. I have been taking a friends son to and from school for over a year now (for free), to save her the £400 bus fare, when she could actually take him herself .

I make myself promise that if I got asked any favours, I would say. "I need to check my diary / Check with hubby / Have a think about if I can fit it in". Then come away and really think about it before saying Yes.

I bet if you hadn't have been so worn out and run down your body might have been able to fight off that infection. So please take it easy, even when you get home. Play the Poorly card a little bit and get family to run around after you for once.

Will be thinking of you. Take care xxx

Sorry to hear you're not well DFW. Hope you feel better soon.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I hope the silence on your diary means you are resting and looking after yourself and not that you have gotten more poorly.

Please check in when you have 5 minutes so we know you are on the mend.

  • Hey all thanks for the well-wishes, I'm home, got back yesterday :) Have been sent off with another week of penicillin and physio appointments as the tendon has seized up from the infection & surgery. I got my first full night's sleep yesterday and woke up feeling much better. I'm so glad they sent me home :D They were trying to keep me in at one point as blood pressure was low and had a slight temperature but i'm so pleased they decided to send me off, I think my recovery will be quicker with home comforts, my children around me and SLEEP :rotfl: Now that i'm only on one lot of penicillin instead of FOUR  I don't feel so dizzy and sick and I refused pain killers after the first two days as they were making me feel worse  I am so used to taking herbal remedies/nothing at all that they knocked me for six, i felt like a total druggy . Back home and i've bathed my hand in aloe vera for an hour and redressed it with MIL help (thankfully she is a Dr of some sort of science and knows how to help out with medical issues like this :) ) It's not feeling so hot after bathing it in aloe (thank god I have plenty of aloe plants to cope with me cutting leaves off here there and everywhere ;) )

Money has drained every which way :( . Have paid petrol costs for me and MIL that weren't expected, extra food, dressings & a FREEVIEW box!!! I totally forgot to budget for it in my brain fuzziness over the past few weeks :( grrr! Brain is even worse now, there isn't much hope for me really is there

Anyway i had best go as finger is hurting a little again typing (good exercise to keep it moving though so it's done it's work for now!) and I will try and pop back in tomorrow as feeling so much better now all the drugs are leaving my system :T

When they mentioned septicaemia I nearly cried :(
I'm very thankful that I took myself off to the drs so quickly as it was on it's way to that. I never go to drs unless totally urgent stuff but I just knew something was wrong with me Friday so I'm happy I listened to my intuition for once :o My grandad had septicaemia too and I remember him being on as many drugs as me he looked so poorly (but was very old and already poorly so suppose that didn't help!)
