Thank you both
I now only need to find £30 to put towards the car tax and i'll have one years worth in the pot :T as it's not due until end of Sept that will come from next month's wages
so pleased as initial calculations I thought would mean £200 coming from next month's wages !
Today we took the kids & MIL to the river in the famous Constable paintings, it wasn't super busy but busier than when we usually go. We had a cream tea as MIL was with us (we usually just take a picnic and have a NSD) so that was £25, parking was £4 and that was it we didn't spend anything else. Kids went swimming in the river and we walked over to Flatford near to the mill in the paintings. Rain threatened a few times but we managed to avoid anything too bad :T. We had to take the kids to their swimming lesson on the way home so it was a bit of a rush and once we'd finished at the swimming pool it was 4.30  sooooooo we spent another £25 on a chippy for everyone :wall: this is what you get for being disorganised! £50 out of the eating out budget in one day!!!
Whilst out my dad called asking when we are visiting him so i've promised we will go to him very soon. He sounded quite down and said he'd been in quite a lot of pain recently
DH's sister has booked us out for all of next week though so not really sure when we can get over to him.
I'm supposed to be volunteering tomorrow morning, I will text her to make sure she's kept her morning free and remembers me coming as i'm sure she won't be too appreciative if I rock up and she's completely forgotten about it
If she's busy I don't mind either way! I still have had not a penny from expenses for everything i've done up to now (just petrol is covered but i've done a fair few trips doing extra things for them and wouldn't mind a little back
) I think that the lady wrote my account details down wrong! Oh well I hope who ever received it needed the money!
Best go i'm supposed to be entertaining kids and MIL whilst DH has escaped off to rugby again!0 -
You always seem so busy lol. I love reading your posts as you are so organised.
I am about to join you in being DF today and want to do what you do. I want to save what I can and raise /find money for all those 'other' things that need paying for. Is that what you are doing?0 -

Congrats on being debt free LAM2011 that must be a great feeling xx
I know how you feel dfw about the eating out situation it's amazing how much it costs to eat out even my hubby has mentioned that a trip to McDonald's isn't cheap anymore so we hardly go now he's on the same boat at me with regards to saving for a deposit xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -

:j  :T fab news LAM !!! Congratulations! !!
I've got pots for everything now but I think it will be an ongoing thing for a while trying to pay in to them and get them to where I'd like them! I want a proper emergency fund after saving for the house deposit. Tbh most months we are as poor as we were when paying debts as every single spare penny goes into some sort of saving account. I keep having to remind myself of the bigger picture and hopefully by the time we are 40 I intend to have broken the pay cheque to pay cheque cycle and have money for holidays, steak and a newer car :rotfl: :money:
I wish my dh were on board we still seem to be on different pagesCongrats on being debt free LAM2011 that must be a great feeling xx

and you're right about mcd's it used to be so cheap now you may as well add a few quid and go the harvester or something  0 -

Just a quick one as quite tired
DH is at a rugby game with DS1 and has been since 6am  I've been out with MIL & smallest two kids to the beach. We went super early and got a good spot and had a good swim in the sea :T we were home by 3.30 so I had time to hang out washing & put another load on (trying to catch up with it all before rain is due!) and made a salad for dinner (using up everything that needed to be eaten before next shop :T)
Been on the phone to edf and they are sorting out my refund within the next few days so I will watch out for a confirmation email Monday/Tuesday and if nothing arrives i'll be on to them by Wednesday! Need to cancel some memberships that I had free trials too as well so I don't get charged but get the cashback
Spends: Petrol, £30. £9 on 4 sandwiches from petrol station (tut tut I should have made them really but couldn't be bothered
) and that was it :T
Take care all!0
