    Hi DFW

I love organised storage boxes in the kitchen as well, all is in order until DD bakes and then she just shoves packets etc back into the cupboard
I bought some kilner jars for flour etc and feel posh when I bake now :rotfl:

    Take care x
I am just waiting for this to happen!:rotfl: DS & DH are often in charge of emptying the DW so when this happens next I am just waiting for them to throw it in nilly willy and not give a hoot about where it lands (then cue me having a melt down over it :o)

I totally get the 'opening cupboards and things falling on you' scenario. we have a Tupperware cupboard and every time that opens its like a waterfall of plastic lids lol.

Sure toffee pops have gotten smaller too - they disappear too quickly here so don't buy them too often. Enjoy this week and hope mother in law doesn't outstay her welcome :)

SNAP! It was our tupperware cupboard that it happened most frequently on followed by the glass & mug cupboard which had become over run with plastic bottles :wall: They are now in a box with a lid in the tupperware cupboard (Amazing how much more you can fit in a properly organised cupboard!) and the glass cupboard is once again safe :T

    Hi DFw, :hello:

Sounds like things are looking up in your world! :T

MILs can be useful (I'd be devastated if any of my DS' partners couldn't wait for my visit to end!). ..Good chance for you and DH to go out on 'romantic' dates without having to rush home to relieve the baby-sitter. ;)

Ahh no I wasn't wishing her visit away as such just I do like to know what is going on and when she might be leaving :o Our house is so small for us and then when we have visitors on top my front room becomes a total mess and I get a little OCD about it :( She went this morning though as she had to go home to look after my DH's sister's pets as the sister is on her way over to us now! SO one goes and one comes (although sister is hiring a caravan near the beach for her stay :))

Totally agree Robin - nice to see them but a leaving date is also good. I always feel i am on my best behavior and cant quite relax fully until they have gone home - but maybe i don't have a great MIL like you are:)
Yes I feel a little like that! MIL is quite posh really and my ds2 said yesterday "ewwww someone farted" and she nearly had a heart attack from stressing over the word "fart" :rotfl: things like that become a little too much for me after a while :o
    Mmmmmm toffee pops DFW!!!!
Hope MIL doesnt overstay her welcome!! xx
Toffypops were in £stretchers for 59p if anyone is interested :D

Yes!!! I said exactly the same about the curtains :rotfl: They will be the last thing back up in our house when we finally go (feel like i've been here forever atm :( ) If I can find them that is  ! Dog is definitely somewhere else, I really hope they haven't just given her away to anyone :( I reckon they will go end of August now just before the new school term, just a feeling I have- which I hope is wrong ;). But they don't appear to be in any rush. They are obviously doing the deep clean of the house themselves (for anyone not in army we have to do a "march out" where the house basically needs to be in the same condition as they gave it to you in, they allow for very little wear and tear over this way- have heard other places are slightly more lenient- when we go I will be paying a cleaner to do it for me as if something fails I would have to come all the way back to re-do it or pay a cleaner anyway  I know so many people have failed an entire march out on a bit of dust behind one radiator...then you have to re-book and pay an extra month's rent. I would rather pay the £300 and have a cleaner do it and stress about it :D) so yes I don't think it's imminent.

  • Morning thanks for all the visitors :j lovely to "see" you all!

I have tried to time my day according to the weather report (how sad am I) but we had a basket of washing and then some! SO i have washed and dried one lot and have another blowing out on the line now, i will leave any more until tomorrow as the skies are turning black as I type. We were going to go to the cinema (kids club) but MIL left a little too late for us to go, £12 saved though ;) DSIL is on the way over but not sure if we will see her today or not. She's offered to have the kids for us overnight before she goes as it will be fun for them to stay with their cousin and DH & I will have a child free night too :T.

I am going to my dad's house on Saturday I think just for the night. And we are going to his end of the month too for a trip on the boat on the Thames and some camping :) be as close to a holiday as we will have this year so I'm looking forward to it. I was invited to a party same day so we can't do that unfortunately, typically we have empty days/weeks and then the few weeks we do have something booked everyone else wants to book us in too. Ah well. It will save a few pennies. Bank is looking not so great as lots of our income is due after the 21st so another 10 days until then  I may need to borrow from a fund and then pay it back.

I was just thinking yesterday about needing to get dd a rainbows outfit and how expensive it is and I logged onto fb this morning to find one for sale, all I need to do is get the t-shirt :T going to have a look at it tonight to make sure it fits but if so it will have saved me £20 at least :T

Anyhow best go as kids looking around for food, am worried they might find my stash of toffypops :rotfl: best go feed them to keep them off the scent of them :D

I too have 10 days till payday - on the scrounge for extra pennies just so that I feel like I actually have some money lol.

I am off to google toffypops not sure I know what they are but they sound yummy :D

Hopefully the new neighbours will be nice but then again I suppose anyone will be better than this last lot.
  • They sell a version of toffypops in a1di so we picked some up just to see if they taste the same and they do! For 49p too so 10p saving :p think they're called toffyooze or something? !

Shopping came to £110......I'm off to sob in to a cushion I think!

On the upside my holiday reading materials arrived! 1p for most of the books ordered and 2.60 postage :T ....first up is "Buddha, the life and teachings of the awakened one" next is Nelson Mandela's "The long road to freedom" :) I'll report back but both had good reviews! Xx
