So so sorry about your dad.maybe you visiting might cheer him up? It must be scary for him and why he didn't go to the docs for so long?
OH..hmm. Hard to be objective about that..so I won'tbut at least he tried to make amends..just needs to verbalise it too tell him ( when you've calmed down!)
Hugs from your friends in the box ( oh and a cheeky G&T too??;))

Thanks Brizzle much appreciatedI'm getting my daily hugs from here so keep popping in to keep topped up
, as for dad I feel the same. My mum (who was married to him for 22 years) reckons he may not have gone to the dr's before now because he's always suffered with bowel problems and may not have thought much of it, I think a little of that is right and a little fear of what might be wrong (and indeed was wrong!)
I'm awaiting his test on Monday to see how advanced it is before making a decision about telling ds1 as I don't want to worry the kids unnecessarily if it's not as bad as I think it is. If it is then they'll be told and we'll go across to see him when he wants us to.
My meditation evening helped loads, there are lots of lovely people there and they were all lovely to me. I wasn't going to mention it as I didn't want to put a dampener on the evening but when we were going round asking how everyone has been I was fighting off the urge to cry! I have another meditation meet today too (with some of the same ladies as last night) so i'm hoping all this practice will keep my equanimity balanced. Dad is remarkably calm about it all as he usually is in the face of stress (I admire his talent for this!) and has always been of the opinion that what will be, will be. I'm trying to learn this myself
Budgets are all done this morning and spreadsheet balanced against the bank accounts, pots are all topped up but until tax credits, child benefits and my rental income come in not much savings will be occurring and the bank is looking sorry for itself already. My cupboards, fridge, freezer are filled though, I have petrol in the car and all the pots are looking healthy so That's good. DS1's school trip is finally paid off today too :T all £300 of it  so next month the budget will be slightly better as I won't have my monthly payment of that to go out. I know it is only May the first but already I am wishing the month away
Mum has her tests for a lump in her throat on the 14th, dad has his mri on Monday, and test results the following Monday and I just want it all over and done with. 2 birthdays this month too so best get my thinking cap on for finding something for both of those!

He's been extra nice after the penny finally dropped about how I might be feeling! Meditation definitely helps and I'm so glad I found it otherwise i'd probably be back down the drs for pills by nowxxx

Hi there, we "bump into each other" on Steph's blog from time to time, I have been away for a few days and just catching up on a few diaries in DFW land.
I am so sorry about the news regarding your dad, and I hope for a positive outcome for him, more virtual hugs from me. (I know, from when the life of a family member of mine was touch and go some months ago, how much the support from virtual friends on one of the threads that I regularly post on kept me going and helped me stay strong to support others).

So sorry to read about the recent news DFW, lets hope its the best outcome, will keep everything crossed xxMummytogirls x0

Keep posting DFW and dropping by for those virtual hugs.
I disappeared last year when my dad was ill and if Im honest looking back now, it probably would have been better to have had some support on here although Im not sure how I would have had the time to post.. There wasn't much support from RL friends, maybe they didnt know what to say. I was actually shocked and stunned by how they reacted and even now a few months down the line some of them have never even mentioned it or asked how I am. Anyway, enough about me, I just want you to know that I am thinking of you xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

So sorry to hear the news about your Dad. I do agree with you about keeping it from DS1 at the moment, too many if's, but's and maybe's until after the MRI. Got everything crossed for you all. Look after yourself too.

Sorry to hear about your dad, at the moment you wont know what to do until your dad has the results of the scan. If possible try to carry on as normal, your dad wont want the grandchildren upset. Usually it falls to one member of the family doing all the running and phoning around and I have a feeling its going to be you. Don't be hard on yourself and remember to come onto these boards and let off steam(as they say).
