I did mean to put something more, but I couldn't remember what was said and my only thoughts were "mmmm cake" whoops.
Hurray for your DH being home soon, hope he's had a change of heart about the job front as that'll help save you some stress and agro :)

He sounded far too perky on the phone the other day, considering he's slept outside for 2 weeks straight now done physical training solid throughout that time and it's turned cold he would usually start the phone call with "I f*****g hate this godd***n b******d job" I think he has spoken to someone on there and is looking for another transfer.....just my thoughts though, hope i'm wrong

P.s I wanted to tell you i've been to a1d1 this afternoon and they've a baby event so get down to one and see if there's anything you need!

  • Shopping came to £45! Was hoping for a little less but considering I stocked up the baking cupboard thoroughly and also some twiglets and baby blankets (for dog) managed to jump in the trolley I think I did ok :rotfl:A1di is a 20 min drive across town though (would probably be able to walk it in the same time the traffic is solid all the way down though :(!) so whenever I do the shopping I need at least one hour, usually more! So no dog walk this afternoon as i've just sat down and i'm so tired again this week. I will see if ds1 will do it after school otherwise I will try and get him out for 20 mins later when the kids are in bed and ds1 can watch them :)

I'm hoping a parcel will come by Friday as it's for the birthday party I need to go to on Saturday. Oops, I like to cut things fine :o I should have ordered it on payday but I kept forgetting! In fact will toddle off now and check to see if it's been dispatched :D

Your savings are looking fab. I'm trying to build mine back up now, it's a good feeling knowing that safety net is there.

As for cake - yes please :j

You'll get there in no time! You've got motivation (and a job...always helps lol) :T I'm hoping it will be no time before I move into my own house, but think I have a fair few years before that will happen (i'm so impatient :rotfl:)

I'm not a million miles from being able to pay mine off. Just want to make sure I've more than enough available in case I'm not working for a bit. That's the reason for trying to bill 64 days by Christmas. That would be a nice present to myself :j

You looking to buy where you are or stay in army housing until DH leaves?

I want to stay in this housing until we're ready to buy but only because it's so cheap compared to privately rented :rotfl: not because it's nice :p. He wants to leave though so I reckon we'll be here until he gets out, I was hoping i'd have bought a place and moved the kids out to it and he would commute until his 12 year point and then leave (he's got another 5 years until then though so not sure I can persuade him to stay to that point ) if he does stay to 12 years he will get a half pension then :).

I can't believe you're so close to paying your mortgage off :j I don't quite understand the billable days though :o i'll have a nosy over on your diary later see if you've explained it there :rotfl:

  • Well I need an early night i'm exhausted and the kids have driven me nuts today. I made the shepherd's pie and the kids ate it all up but I wasn't impressed with the portioning of it :(! I should have got two separate dinners as I doubled up on the mince like I did for the chilli and the spag bol and yet after dishing out there was only enough left for one person  I ended up giving it to my friend when she came to collect her kids :rotfl: I didn't see the point in freezing such a tiny amount :o! Oh well luckily I managed to get extras from the chilli & spag bol so i'm not down on dinners to go round for the month.

DS1 walked the dog :T so I didn't need to and i've asked him if he can collect DD from school on his way home tomorrow as she starts gym club (which is free:T)..he's said yes so we'll see whether she comes home in tears or not as to whether he can do this regularly :)

DD is tired. DS2 was falling asleep from the minute he walked in and I feel the same. Roll on the weekend I say even though Saturday will be another day full of kids and screaming :(!!!

  • Jobs to do next week:

    • [STRIKE]Contact tenant ask her when payments are going to be paid this month.[/STRIKE]
    • Sort out the mountain of paperwork
    • Shred all the debts that have been paid - KEEP the f&f letters to say they have agreed to terms
    • [STRIKE]Sort out 1 cupboard in the kitchen (it all needs doing every cupboard is a mess :( but I would be there all week if I attempted it all at once) I am thinking of buying some cheap storage boxes as the cupboards worst affected by 'mess' are the ones with plastic tupperware things and they are thrown all over the place![/STRIKE] still have 2 left~!
    • Start yoga :j
    • Go to the gym 2 times
    • [STRIKE]Go on a bike ride[/STRIKE]
    • Take the dog on a social walk (friday)
    • Take dog out every day at least half hour WHILST kids are at school!
    • Keep on top of the house (flylady) :A
    • [STRIKE]Have a look at spreadsheets and see what can be done to find money (without raiding emergency funds!) to pay for car tax for the whole year. I have 6 months worth already but I want to start paying yearly so I need to find another £100 (which I gave £80 to dh already!) :money:[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Get some sort of filing system for DH's paperwork, his favourite place to 'store' it is on the fridge, shoved in drawers all over the house, in his underwear drawer (???) under the bed, behind his bedside cupboard....do you get the picture???[/STRIKE] AM@ZON again!
    • [STRIKE]Order DS1 some storage for under his bed and behind his door (his room is very small and he already has a built in wardrobe but it's tiny and he's no where to put anything. After emptying his whole room the other night in the search of a spider I've decided to get him some storage now we have some extra money so next time this happens I can just tell him to remove box/bag at a time rather than smelly gym shirt at a time and him shaking it all over me, us both screaming and shouting at each other and just being a general pain and annoyance :eek::rotfl:[/STRIKE]
    • Knit one square
That is enough I think to keep me busy on my first child free week (during school hours) since 1998 ;)

I also need to go to the tip, the charity shop and empty the boot of the car out as it's filled with kayaking stuff which is super heavy and takes up all the space (which I only spotted once i'd done my shopping today and was trying to squeeze it all in!)

Morning! Will be finishing early tonight (around 5 rather than 6pm) :j so nice quick dinner of pasta bake I think! Was going to do sausage casserole but will leave that one for another day now :D

I've just made a coffee cake and the recipe said 4 TEAspoons of coffee. I accidentally in my half-asleep mode put in 4 TABLE spoons of it :o:eek::eek::eek: It will be re-named espresso cake :rotfl:! The whole house smells of coffee and cake now :D! Perhaps the fumes will wake me up properly :rotfl:

I met my neighbour this morning as she was throwing out 2 perfectly good baby swings and bouncers ! ! I told her to sell them on fb or fleabay but she was not bothered and was tipping them! I took some pics and put them on my fb and hopefully there are 2 ladies picking them up off her later for free :T if not I will take them to the charity shop for her as I have a whole load of stuff to go as well. What a waste putting things like that on a landfill !

I was going to the gym today but I feel so tired and have a cold now thanks to the weather changing that I came home did a quick clean and made the aforementioned cake ;):p! I've got a film on the planner to watch once the cake is ready to eat and i'm good to go :rotfl: I think it's nice to have a lazy day once in a while!

Bank is looking sorry for itself thanks to me buying too much stuff :D:o I should have done it bit by bit but obviously I still haven't entirely learned my lesson yet! Oops! I borrowed £50 from the emergency fund which I will pay back as and when money hits my account. That should prop it up for now, when DH is home i'm going to make sure he gives me back any extra that he didn't need from that £80 I moved across to him. It should hopefully pay for some of the meal out at the weekend. DS1 might not be coming anyway as he has a date (wit-woo ) but this is good for the budget as he as a nearly 15 year old can eat more than the 34 & 35 year old's of this house!:eek::eek:!!!

BTW off subject totally but did anyone see This M0rning yesterday, that k@tie whatshername was on it ranting about it being perfectly acceptable to miss your kids birthdays? Her last rant was how she hates kids called 'Destiny' and 'Tyler' I didn't see it on tv as I don't watch daytime tv much but I saw a clip my friend posted on fb and WOW  is all I have to say she is shocking!!!!! Anyway as I said totally off topic haha but I can't actually believe people think the way she does!?
