International calls from mobiles: Grab them for free article discussion

This is not a free service but it is bloody cheap. To call m y brother in the states i use a mobile world sim card from cpw. They charge just 5p per min to call a landline or 'cell phone' We aren't as ripped off as the states. They get charged to take a call or to receive a text even if it is from someone in the same state. They get charged roaming rates to call say new york to little rock in arkansas! If you use any free service to call the states the person you call will still get charged.
You can also call other places such as oz , india etcend the tv tax0 -
why on earth would u use CPW sim at a cost of 5p per min when you can find on this website (int call checker) calls to USA at a tenth of that & decent quality too!
I use one that costs 0.4p to usa l/l or mobile vand quality is grand0 -
I signed up with Orange Raccoon35, which means unlimited free calls to landlines. I also registered with 18185, and they have an 0208 number to call from mobiles, you then just have to dial the number you're looking for.
I use it to call everyone now, not only abroad, but local mobiles as well, and it saves me a lot of money.I :heartpuls Procrastination.0 -

Help Please
Last year I registered for - 02071246666 - which allowed me make international calls using my free minutes for free.
The process was that I sent a text 'ABROAD' to 80550 and I received a reply informing me of my 'pin' and also that I had £50 credit for International calls.
As I am going abroad this coming week, I have sent messages to add credit so that family and friends in UK, can call me on my International phone number, at no cost to them. I have £70 credit on this facility, yet when I have tried to make an International call I am being told that my account has been 'SUSPENDED'. Can anyone help please.0 -

I don't quite understand this
There are plenty of resellers of the underlying service, and the choice of the word sent is what will define which one you have subscribed to. A Google search for the access phone number and the text number has over 2000 results and I can't tell which you have
Subscribing like this gives you £5 per message sent.
And then I can't figure out how you applied the credits to the other phones, or is it all on your phone in fact? Did your phone account have enough credit to pay for the subscribing text messages?
I think you need to find which one you subscribed to, and call their customer services0 -
When you talk about making international mobile to mobile calls, I take it this means a British SIM carded mobile over here (obviously), but can a normal British SIM carded mobile be used overseas, as happens normally in the rip off system, or does it have to have its British SIM replaced with a local, (ie a Canadian or what ever country you are visiting) SIM in the British mobile when using firms such as Rebtel ?0

Sorry if I am in the wrong place for this question - but this is my first time on the forums.
I have a rebtel sccount but for about a week now just get the message - "sorry there is a technical problem - please try again" - whenever i try to make a call - Also I have posted messages on the rebtel website - areort a problem area - but have had no reply - any one else experiencing this?
