Well that's it. Finally after five years and nearly £70k of debt and £150k of mortgage.......I am debt and mortgage free :T I have paid off my last credit card, the mortgage was cleared on Tuesday and I do not have an overdraft :T Feels a bit strange to be honest. To stay in the mse way I rounded down my current account and transferred the £8.19 to my savings account, very odd not to send it to the credit card.
Today I bought a new slow cooker, turns out the old one got broken in the move, and some milk. I don't feel the need to buy anything else.
I'm going to have to put a whole new budget in place and a savings plan too. A good start to December.
Just wanted to say congrats - what a brilliant achievement in such a short space of time:jBlitz that mortgage

:T:jFirstly: massive congratulations on being debt free! :j:T
Secondly, paying for updating you address on Colin's chip is well worth it!Another couple of address updates too. Guess what? The only one I've had to pay for is Colin's chip update, have suggested he pay for it, but just got the look. The look that says 'I'm a superior being, I'm a cat, you're a servant - do it'

Tomorrow I'll update on my plans for bringing the Captain and Noah home. My plans for work and something else I want to do. Means I'll still be around for a while longer - hurrah!!
Note exactly tomorrowI am having problems with my new internet access, it just randomly decides it's had enough and stops  I have at great pains logged a call, had to wait 45 minutes to speak to someone  Then spent a while crawling round the floor unscrewing the telephone box to connect through the test socket [who even knew there was one there!] Then I hadn't got a spare ASDL micro-filter [something that all normal people have :rotfl:] So had to buy one for £5  Now I'm waiting to find out whether it's the line or the router that is causing the problem. Still not convinced I wasn't being secretly filmed crawling round the floor and behind the TV :rotfl:However, it was worth doing as it costs £60 to have the engineer round even though it's newly fitted. In the meantime, communications from Piquant Palace and Animal Home may be sporadic.
It's been a horribly spendy few days with the purchase of a shower caddy, lampshades and bookcase. I have set aside some money for new home purchases as these can be unavoidable. Managed to spend £108 in B&Q on shelves, screws etc:eek: However, thanks to DS2 there is no longer a higgledy piggledy pile in the broom cupboard and bathroom:)
Plans:
Work - I will stay at the coffee shop for another month to see how the finances work out. I will put the money earned from there aside to see if I can live off my main wage.
The Captain- I am leaving him where he is for the winter. I do not have anywhere suitable for an old horse in cold weather, he must have a snug stable overnight and a shelter during the day. There are field next door to where I am now with horses in, I will find out if I can rent/buy any space.
Other - Due to stopping riding and being a stress eater I have put on a fair amount of weight and I'm not comfortable with it. I've decided to sponsor myself every pound lost I am going to donate £5 to Alzheimer's Society. I lost my grandma to this horrible disease and I now I'm debt free I'd like to be able to help out in some way. Hopefully, this will keep me on the straight and narrow diet wise.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

. Lovely idea :T.
