The bookcase is looking good, filled with bits and pieces as well as a few books! Had to clean the brass bowl before it went up though
I am lucky enough to have a few bits that my great-great grandad collected on his world travels, unluckily most of them need cleaning to look their best :rotfl: One shelf on the bookcase has a cat on it....
Christmas present shopping now completed, all done online, no time [or patience] for shops.
I'm going to work overtime tomorrow evening, which will bring in some more money, if I worked next Sunday too it would pay for Christmas lunch....hmmm, probably worth it. I will think on it.
£10 put aside for Alzheimer's charity. Yes, somehow I left 2lbs lying around somewhere last week. Hope one of you didn't pick it up...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I do hope that there is a nice warm blanket on that book case:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Glad that Colin is feeling relaxed enough to claim a place on the bookshelves! It all sounds positive - both feline and hoomin. Just need the Captain and Noah when the time is right and then all will be right in your world. What a journey . . .0

Wow Piq. What can I say that hasn't already been said. It is nice to end the year on a positive note. I am so very pleased for you. It must be SUCH a relief to be secure and debt free. How awesome is that.
2014 is going to be such a great year for you.

No warm blanket. Just furry bum firmly planted between the gardening books and the terracotta horse. To tell the truth poor Colin's not very happy about the move. He's alternativly moping under the bed or begging to go out. He uses his cat sentry post to check out the way I have rearranged his world. He is spending less time under the bed and he hasn't stopped eating although he's lost a little bit of his tummy. I do feel sorry for him, but you can't explain moving house to a cat.Wow Piq. I've cleared another six or seven boxes this morning, the spare room is looking tidier [and I can get in a couple of feet without breaking my neck]. The boxes are flattened and stacked in the shed waiting to go on FreeCycle.
Unfortunately, another spendy day. I've had to order two runners for the hall, there is no way I'm going to keep a cream carpet cream otherwise. Still, went through Quidco and got free delivery, so not an entirely throwaway money moment.
DS2 was supposed to come and help hang pictures and build some more racking in the shed, unfortunately, he forgot to wake up :rotfl:There's always another day...
I'm adding my tips to my sealed pot now, rather than have them go to surviving costs. I'm hopeful that the sealed pot will pay for Christmas next year in it's entirety.
I'm off to do an extra few hours at work, overtime. The extra money will be useful before Christmas. It was earmarked to pay for Christmas lunch even though it was already budgeted for. Now, I think, it will help pay for the hall runnersTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Good news! I think I've found a field for the Captain and Noah. I'm going to meet the owner later in the week to discuss rent and upkeep, not to mention a shelter and stable
Last night's over-time was painless and I am now a few pounds up towards the hall runners, the coffee shop shift should cover the rest. I not going to use the coffee shop money towards every day bills, I want to manage on my main salary. The money will go towards extra expenditure or go into savings. Having said that, there seem to be a lot of extra expenses caused by moving. Talking of which I need to pay the outstanding bill for water on my old house today.
Not a lot else to report, bed changed and bedding in the washing machine. No outside washing line yet so it will have to dry on the heated airer. I want to prepare a butternut squash stew in the slow cooker for tomorrow but lack a few vital ingredients meaning I'll have to go to the supermarket later, probably on my way home from the coffee shop.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Fingers crossed regarding the field. If it works out will it be close to people who would be around for security or notice if anything was amiss.
The odds and ends really mount up after a move don't they?, more external doors meant more door mats, an extra bathroom meant buying and extra shower mat, towel rail, mirror, different connectors were needed for washer and dish washer etc, it is good that you can get your new home up and running using the extra earnings for the time being.
It is lovely and sunny here, I hope that it is with you too, have a good day:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
