Brilliant news about the field. At least all these extra expenses are one-offs and once you have your four legged family back together it will all seem worth it.

Fingers crossed regarding the field. If it works out will it be close to people who would be around for security or notice if anything was amiss.

The odds and ends really mount up after a move don't they?, more external doors meant more door mats, an extra bathroom meant buying and extra shower mat, towel rail, mirror, different connectors were needed for washer and dish washer etc, it is good that you can get your new home up and running using the extra earnings for the time being.

It is lovely and sunny here, I hope that it is with you too, have a good day:D

The field is next door, there are horses dotted all around. When I'm at work Colin could work the security aspect.

The odds and ends seem never ending. I really need a front door bell, someone banging on the door frightens the bejesus out of me!

Poor Colin isn't happy. He doesn't like it here very much and he hates being a house cat :( He's nowhere near settled enough to consider letting him out though. He is still hiding in his cat cave [a space with a blanket hidden between two baskets under my bed] whenever anyone visits. There is a very mournful cat sentry on the windowsill wondering where his tree went :( I feel very sorry for him, but I can't explain that this is still his forever home, just in a different place. On a good note, he is still eating and he does still sleep at the bottom of the bed at night. Poor Colin.

Back on the day shifts this week. Driving into town was a nightmare, took ages, so much traffic. Christmas shoppers I suppose.

I did my weekly[ish] shop yesterday evening. I am still having to build the store cupboard back to fighting strength so it was a bit more than the normal budget amount. I saved £6.70 with vouchers and have transferred this amount to the savings account. I thought it would be a good way of continuing to be as frugal as possible on the grocery front. I'm still rounding down the amount in my current account and transferring that across to savings rather than the credit card. Again, I want to continue with the habits I've learned over the last five years.

No idea how my Alzheimers five pounds for one pound is going. But I do know that barring one accidental packet of Malteazers falling into my mouth I have been very good on the diet front. Unfortunately, I can still see my front, so the diet is not yet over :rotfl:

Probably. He'd eat the whistle but look mighty cute in a hat!

  • Piq re Colin, as I posted some time back, my old cat sat behind the woodburner for several days (no, it wasn't lit) and didn't even use his litter tray for three days, so must have been getting desperate. It would appear from talking to his previous owner (he ran away to our house when they bought a puppy) that he had never used a litter tray so poor thing must have been totally bewildered. What I did do in the end was purchase a small harness and lead and took him outside to have a look around. Just half an hour at a time, but gradually he gained confidence - nothing attacked him - until I could eventually let him out under supervision. His first day out alone he proudly presented me with the corpse of a tree creeper (rare) followed my a lizard, which did actually survive. I think it is a confidence thing, something to do with territory. Suggest you give it a try plus lots of cuddles.

Sorry to hear poor Colin is suffering, I'm sure he'll settle eventually, in the meantime lots of cuddles and treats should help him
