Congratulations! What wonderful news! So, so pleased for you. I echo the sentiment that I hope you keep coming here to share stories of the Captain, Noah and Colin; and tales of swapping coffee pot washing for pot painting.
Don't worry about the box mountain, the unpacking does take a while. I'm still not straightened out 6 months after movingOr maybe that's just me.

Oh wow, so many of you :T I can't believe so many of us have traveled together for so long. Thank you for sticking with me through it all. :T:T to all of you
I spent my first day of debt-freeness with the Captain, well I think it was the Captain or some similar mud monster. I wanted to tell him that he would be coming home. I want him to stay where he is for the winter, he will be warm and well looked after there. I don't want to throw the old boy into a cold field without a snug shelter. Noah will be coming with him. My friend is loaning him to me to keep the Captain company. As the two horses adore each other it would be unkind to separate them now.
Another couple of address updates too. Guess what? The only one I've had to pay for is Colin's chip update, have suggested he pay for it, but just got the look. The look that says 'I'm a superior being, I'm a cat, you're a servant - do it'
I have some night-time jazz playing in the background, a glass of red and it feels quite homely, provided I don't look at the piles of boxes in the corner :rotfl:Talking of boxes, I've put the unpacked ones on Freecycle and already have had a few messages about them. As all boxes were donated or got from work it seems right to pass them on.
Today wasn't a NSD as obviously I had to buy carrotsbut that's all. Tomorrow will be a spendy one though. DS3 is going to put up some shelves and hooks for me, but first I'm going to have to buy them! It means quite a bit of stuff will be cleared away into the enormous broom cupboard.
Update on gas cooking: Interesting crispy rice to go with HM veggie chilli. I think it needed a couple of minutes less with the absorption method...
Hi Piq,
I think it is lovely that Captain is trying out the latest spa treatments... Horses can benefit from a good mud bath cleanse too you know!!!!:rotfl:
Gas cooking the top to remember is that although you have instant control over the flame and can stop something boiling over very fast by turning the gas down for instance, the pan itself still retains lord of heat. We usually boil or rice until half the water is gone switch off and leave for 10min.Hmmm, why do one post when you can do three?
Tomorrow I'll update on my plans for bringing the Captain and Noah home. My plans for work and something else I want to do. Means I'll still be around for a while longer - hurrah!!
Please stick around. I am looking forward to more captain stories when you are reunited... they are always so funny :rotfl::rotfl: Besides that I have spent years reading your diary and REALLY enjoy it!!
Hope your DIY day goes well today.. its all so exciting!!!!0 -

Nine months here and counting, allybee, so not just you.:o If only I knew where the Christmas decorations actually were...:rotfl:Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

Well that's it. Finally after five years and nearly £70k of debt and £150k of mortgage.......I am debt and mortgage free :T I have paid off my last credit card, the mortgage was cleared on Tuesday and I do not have an overdraft :T Feels a bit strange to be honest. To stay in the mse way I rounded down my current account and transferred the £8.19 to my savings account, very odd not to send it to the credit card.
Today I bought a new slow cooker, turns out the old one got broken in the move, and some milk. I don't feel the need to buy anything else.
I'm going to have to put a whole new budget in place and a savings plan too. A good start to December.
Am very slowbut :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
